Thanks for taking the time to share this Ben. I know you’ve been fixing an overwhelming number of outboards here in the TC at least these past few years, but you are still so generous with sharing a knowledge and time. I’ve learned a ton from you. Many thanks!

If someone is wondering the EU spec tools for this, I managed to do this with M7 tap and M7 threaded rod. I bought a 15hp Evinrude 1980 couple months ago, and really like the engine. Had to do some cleaning and tuning, but it runs great now. After the season, found out that there was some water mixed with lower unit gear oil, so decided to replace all the seals and this o-ring was the last to be replaced. Thank you very much for instructions, cant wait next summer 👍🏻 Greetings from Finland! 🇫🇮

Awesome video!!!. I just made the tool and pulled my bushing on my 9.9. It would have cost 130.00 for slide hammer and special tool, not wanting to spend that on one time job. Only cost 20 bucks and it came out with ease, thank you for your time.

how to you put the new busing in without the O ring falling out?
@Shokenryu2 жыл бұрын
You have a plastic washer in before the o-ring then the bushing. Some evinrude has another O-Ring inside the bushing itselfs.
