The orchestral swell honestly makes me very emotional. I've shed a tear or two watching this live rendition. The best antiwar song ever recorded. I'm of Japanese descent and this song really hits me close

Love.This.Band! Phenomenal music. Am watching this at 56 years old. Enola Gay and Electricity were the soundtrack to my night clubbing days. So cool to see another generation loving this! We were better dancers though 😂🤣😂! Love you Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys ❣️🥰😍😘

I was a teenager in the 80s and my Granddad was a steward at the Dome Brighton. When the Bands I loved came to play I'd get him to get me an access all areas pass if he could, but he couldnt for the OMD gig so I ended up in the lighting Tech's box way up in the back but with a good view, the tech started to show me how to read the cues and use the sliders (no automation back then) it was coloured stickers and lyrics on a wall chart and you had to follow that and push the right sliders. he let me have a few goes in the middle of a few songs and let me do the whole of Enola which as I remember they finished on, but his hands were hovering only a few mil over mine in case I got it wrong. I didnt and it ended in a brilliant white light from behind the stage to blind the audience as if the nuclear bomb had gone off. it was only a couple of sliders to do the biggest effect in the whole show. Anyway, that's my memory of that gig and song,

Artists that start making music to make money fast and get rich and famous - todays popclones. Artists that started making music because they have the heart, soul, talent and fun in making music - people like OMD. Andy & Paul were awesome back in the days and they are still awesome to this day :)
@greatbritishedits66025 жыл бұрын
knubbelkeks69 you are not wrong there my good sir, artists like OMD, Queen, Linkin Park, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Beatles, MJ, Elvis & Madness, Tupac, Eminem, Notorious B.I.G, Dr.Dre just to name a few. Were all proper musical geniuses and deserved to be incredible artists like most of them are today (sadly most of the people I mention have passed away), and today’s music is fucking atrocious (not saying all music as there are still decent music out there, just gonna know where to look), say the likes of Lil Pussy, XXXtesticles, Cardi Bitch and again, just to name a few DO NOT deserve to be iconic musical artists as they have no talent whatsoever. Soz for my rant but I feel it needs to be said 😂😂

I have loved OMD since Electricity back in 1979 and continue to do so. I so much love this live version - with the Full Orchestra OMG, the vibrant string section playing on the lead synthesizer's and adding their own touches leading us from verse to chorus adds a new dimension to this song. Likewise latter part of the song is complimented by the brass section who add their own balanced bounce to this British Classic, please fellow fans listen closely to how the orchestra gives this great song new depth, I wonder if Paul and Andy had any input with the Orchestra?
@TomstardustNL Жыл бұрын
It's always great how this orchestra gives a whole new depth in this song. I find it undecribeable how you clearly can see that he is exausted but still continues. When I saw how he moves it didnt supriced me he looks exausted.

A very good example of the quality that KZbin can deliver these days. KZbin delivered quality HD at the start of June 2009 with no press release, and no press coverage. A HUGE development for the web. Gone unseen. This footage helps that. Great song, great video. Watch the view counts rise on this one perhaps?

The Enola Gay (/ɪˈnoʊlə/) is a Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, named after Enola Gay Tibbets, the mother of the pilot, Colonel Paul Tibbets. On 6 August 1945, piloted by Tibbets and Robert A. Lewis during the final stages of World War II, it became the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb. The bomb, code-named "Little Boy", was targeted at the city of Hiroshima, Japan, and caused the near-complete destruction of the city. Enola Gay participated in the second atomic attack as the weather reconnaissance aircraft for the primary target of Kokura. Clouds and drifting smoke resulted in a secondary target, Nagasaki, being bombed instead.
