Loved this! This is my favourite track of all time and was delighted to finally hear it live yesterday. Enjoyed this video as it reminded me just how great it was live! 😊

What impresses me so much is that a group from the 80s can command such a loyal following in 2024. For years, I have always enjoyed their catalogue of albums but never saw that connection to the audience in a live setting. Thanks to the wonderful world of the internet and KZbin, I get that chance to see how sincere McCluskey & Humphreys are with their fans. The mere fact that they can smile unabashedly or grin sincerely without putting on airs in front of their audience just breaks down that wall alot of performers throw up onstage. OMD doesn't just go through the motions of playing their setlist. Rather, they enjoy every moment of it and, (I'm sure) appreciate the fact that they still command sold - out performances wherever they choose to play. Many 80s bands today seem really worn and lacking the spirit OMD embodies. It's like being at a party and your best friends decided to haul out their equipment and have some fun playing for one another. Great uploads Willy!

@eightiesmusic1984 my comment comes from seeing hundreds of 80s groups I've seen in concert attempting to reinvent themselves or cash in on the nostalgia of the 80s. Granted - the fans have an expectation of hearing their favourite songs performed exactly as they remember them, and the reality of getting older is a bit of a slap in the chops for both the fans & the artists themselves. I have seen very few 80s groups rise to the occasion of a performance that they used to give. As I had said, OMD consistently delivers on that and have actually improved with age. Their ability to take a large venue and make it an intimate event for all present is a testament to their fan base and OMD's enjoyment of performing live for their fans.
