If you have time, I'm also interested in approximate cost of operation. Good video.

What do they suggest for the distance from the heater to combustibles or painted objects such as vehicles or even your garage doors and fans. Can you also hang them at an angle near a wall if you have a heat guard or isn't that needed?
@cwproductions66932 жыл бұрын
I believe you can angle the reflectors up to 20-30 degrees. Each manufacturer has different specs so I would check the installation manual before you buy anything

We just had the IR hung (Omega II 4.0, 125 btu) and need to hook up the thermostat. Do you have a video that shows how? A 110 is required so our HVAC crew did not touch it as they only work with 24.

very informative video. I am thinking of putting the same heater in my airplane hanger. Would you buy this heater again?? Also do you think you would be able to heat your shop with only one heater?
@cwproductions66933 жыл бұрын
Yes, I'd definitely buy these again. One heater can certainly heat the space comfortably. We opted for two because we couldn't put one down the middle of the garage. And it is nice having the option of direct heat vs. indirect heat, depending on where you are working in the space. You will just need to take into account the angles of the heat waves and make sure you have coverage where you need it the most. Obviously, not all areas of the space need heated the same way, so finding the right placement on the ceiling is what's most important.

@@cwproductions6693 Thanks for your reply. There are other hangars at our airport that have these types of heaters and they are also happy with there performance. Thanks

What fuel are they burning? Cost to operate over the winter season? Thanks
@cwproductions66934 жыл бұрын
Natural gas. these units share a gas meter with another building so I wouldn't have accurate costs of operation.

The newer Reznors aren’t that loud I have one and prefer them over these because of the size of the actual unit.

They should be pulling outside air Right???
@cwproductions66934 жыл бұрын
No, the inducer fan sends a draft down the tube, but it pulls air from inside the garage. The end of the tubes need to vent out through the roof or side of garage like we have it.
@Loop3074 жыл бұрын

How tall is the ceiling in this video? Looking at these same radiant tubes. I have 10' walls, concerned that will not be tall enough as most recommend 12' minimum clearance.
@cwproductions66936 жыл бұрын
My ceiling height is 12'. Perhaps you could use some smaller units. I could get by with just one of these to heat the whole garage, they are pretty powerful, but having two is nice to spread the work load between the two units.
@jjohn566 жыл бұрын
How loud are these units? Do you have a decibel reading?
@cwproductions66936 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I don't have a decibel reading. I would compare the noise level to an inducer fan motor on a typical home furnace. That's the bulk of the noise. You can also faintly hear the flame shooting down the tube. But that just goes to show you how quiet they are.
@putheflamesou6 жыл бұрын
are these more efficient?
@cwproductions66936 жыл бұрын
Yes, I believe it's a tiny bit more up front cost, but more efficient heating and thereby cost effective to go with radiant tube.
@aRawlings285 жыл бұрын
That seems like overkill! You have over 200,000 BTU’s in that one room?
@cwproductions66935 жыл бұрын
It might look like overkill on paper, yes, but you have to take into account many factors. Square footage, ceiling layout, attic space, heat loss, desired recovery time, budget, how far away the heat can be felt. In this case, we have a large attic that is being heated indirectly by these units. Total square feet is over 4700 when you include the attics and the other attached garage.
