The Omega model costco offers is the 8005. Please look up my video on comparing the (newer) 8006 to the 8005. The 8006 is the "newest" model and has a longer warranty and 8x harder auger. Please remember, we do pricematch other competitors, including costco.

On the 8004 6" pieces are fine. On the Omega VRT, I recommend cutting into 1/8" pieces..

The Green Star Elite tends to back-up which makes it challenging to feed thru the pineapple. It has so much back pressure, softer pineapple is not able to make it thru the whole juicer.. So for pineapple - the VRT gets my vote. That being said, be sure you are attempting to juice, a nice FIRM pineapple, and follow "proper" procedures in the VRT. If juiced properly, you can juice about 1 pineapple before having to stop and clean out the juicer to do another.

Technically, Foam is the oxygen, so yes. Of course the amount of foam created depends specifically what you are juicing. Each produce item may create more or less foam depending on the juicer it is being juiced in.

Its important when juicing pineapples to get them HARD and FIRM, not soft and mushy. It will work MUCH better. On the celery, it should handle the celery just fine without getting clogged. Some backup may be normal, but I wouldn't know since im not there. Please contact Omega 800 633 3401 for customer servicer if you believe the juicer is not operating correctly.

Im not a big fan of the Breville. It has alot of "marketing" behind it, and is a good juicer, but why get a "good" juicer when you can have a "great" juicer. One of the things I dont like about the Brevilles are the short 1 yr warranty. I believe if you spend $300 on a juicer, it should be longer than 1 yr warranty. The omega juicers in this video have a 10 yr (VRT 330HD) and 15 yr (8004) warranty.

Juiced a Dole pineapple for the first time in my Omega 8004(live in Hawaii). Cut off the skin etc. The 8004 did a decent job, it did get backed up quite a bit and would no longer extract any more juice. I suspect part of the problem was the pineapple became too soft by the time we juiced it(stayed in the fridge a little too long). The juice did taste amazing unlike anything canned. Was very pulpy as you mentioned in this video.

Nice comparison John. I'd have to say i'm still leaning towards the Omega VRT because I tend to eat all my greens whole in salads instead of juicing them. And while it's hot, i've been blending up my tree collard leaves in with my smoothies.

If your celery is really stringy cut it in to 6 inch pieces that way you lessen the chance of getting fibers wrapping around the auger and blocking the screen

I do not recommend juicing pineapples in the GSE. It tends to back up really bad.

John, Any info on the Omega Juicer from Costco vs. the others (8005/8006)? The model from Costco is 855hd. Thanks for these videos, very very helpful!

I was thinking of buying the Breville 800JEXL. I was wondering if there's a reason why your site does not sell Breville products. I'm open to any comments as I have only minute information in regards to juicers. I would like to spend around three hundred or so. But if for some reason a more expensive model is better, either performance, warranty, cleaning or proccessing characteristics, I would opt to spend more. Your opinion will be well recieved. Thanks!
