I own both Omega and Grand Seiko watches (not the ones listed here) and I am certain that you can’t go wrong with either. Both look awesome and whichever watch catches your eyes aesthetically then go with that as Omega makes beautiful watches and so does Grand Seiko. I would buy either as they are both excellent.

Sold my GS and get Aqua Terra Skyfall 38.5, agreed GS is another level in finishing, but kinda big for a dress watch and too shiny with their rainbow reflective indexes with no lume for a sport watch. Omega steel just feels more supreme and Aqua Terra is better fit as GADA watch 😅 I would love to add another GS again but maybe their quartz 37mm sbgx261 with better proportion.

I'm lucky enough to have both. They are incredibles. The Omega AT has a superbe green dial, more versatile, and I have more positive comments on the OMEGA than with the GS. But as a watch enthusiast, I prefer the finishing of the GS that is simply unbeatable. The indices from GS are striped vertically, like with a knife, if you look closely ! All is done to catch the light, and it works great. The hands from the GS, even without loom, are way more exceptional that the AT (what about the second sweep !!!). The down side on both are the bracelets that are fine but not exceptional compare to the case even if i prefer the GS one. Both have an incredible movement with a advance on GS if you accept to compare different technology. So, the great textured green dial perfectly balanced or the more classic blue sunburst dial but with gorgeous saber hands in a perfect finished case ? If i had to choose, I just could not...

The positive comments you receive are probably from people who recognise the Omega logo. GS finishing is far better.

I started with a GS SBGA203 and later added the green Aqua Terra to my rotation (same model as this video), no doubt the GS is more formal for the office and is streets ahead in quality, the Omega is more versatile and can be dressed down for weekend wear. The spring drive is magical and of course knocks down the AT in accuracy. I can't imagine life without either of them now 😊
@eliasmoubarak946 Жыл бұрын
I would personally choose the omega because I love the brand, but I have to admit that the GS looks more luxurious.
@caseytang22772 жыл бұрын
I own the GS shown here and am quite glad I chose it over the AT. For one, I don't particularly like lume on a time-only watch, and the AT lume is designed poorly (the hands are super confusing in the dark). The polished steel indices/hands on the GS are absolutely gorgeous, and visible even in low light due to the high contrast with the dial. If I am in pitch black I check my phone for the time lol. Second, the GS bracelets get a lot of hate but I really like the bracelet and have been able to get a good fit without micro adjustment. The GS will also look epic on a leather strap with that iconic 44GS case. Third, the spring drive is way cooler than the co-axial IMO and also keeps more accurate time. If you want to be inspired each day by elite Japanese craft, buy a GS.
@A_Dude_And_His_Watch782 жыл бұрын
Totally agree about low light legibility on the AT. Mine was hard to read and one of the reasons I sold it.

The AT is leagues better man. I own both. The reasons it’s better are endless. There’s a reason why Omega has so many celebrity endorsements. The bracelet on the AT looks better and feels more smooth than the GS. Next time you visit an Omega AD try on an AT. I’m considering selling my GS bc of how little I wear it. AT all the way.

The aqua terra is thicker and yet looks less oversized due to the design. GS looks like an oversized dress watch whereas AT looks like a sports watch that is supposed to be big. The polishing covers the entire lugs on the GS, which makes it look very odd.
@garyadels12 жыл бұрын
The GS case is much more polished, and in the video show obvious finger prints. The AT’s metal band is a finger print attractor, with the large polished center links. I prefer the AT with the factory rubber strap or Artem sailcloth straps.

I find the polishing on the GS far too harsh. I was never that impressed when I saw them up close and found it difficult to tell the time. I also find the squared proportions quite harsh and almost cheap looking. I guess this is just me. I’m also not a huge fan of the vanilla AT but I have the small seconds variant and do love it. I have an Omega leather strap with it too and it’s very comfortable. However, I bought a Zenith El Primero Classic with the same colour combo in the dial and the quality of that piece is miles beyond the AT. Maybe that’s what the GS is too but I’m not just a fan.
