I have this watch and also the newest 300m in blue as well. Love them both but the dimensions and feel on the wrist and also the bracelet of the older model is much better. I also love that it's a quartz as i can leave it in the drawer for 2 weeks and grab it and go without swtting the time. I also know it's a tank as it's quartz and it is cheaper to service and maintain. Love the connection to Goldeneye as well as its my favourite bond movie

5:02 the bezel shouldn't be able to go clockwise! is a diver's watch, so ISO applies, in case the bezel gets knocked off and alters the dive time to the disadvantage of the diver!

It's a divewatch but not an ISO certified one. So it does not have to apply to all ISO regulations. But like kiwimark3875 already noticed, this clip is played backwards!

As a new 2541-80 owner I have to add two things: It wears surprisingly good also on a big wrist (205mm circumferences). There is absolutely no fine adjustment in the bracelet. You can only take full links out or replace them with a half link. I am surprised no one ever mentions this in reviews.

I find some watch models always are the best in their best classic iterations like the seamaster in the second iteration (smp-c) and the tag heuer carrera (before this current version where they modernized the case shape and lugs. I also find the boxy case design of the older tudor black bay heritage better than the more sculpted thinner cases of the bb54 and the new burgundy bezel. Sometimes the classic models just look and wear more elegantly. Too much modernization of watches doesnt always fare well for a pure enjoyment factor of wearing and looking at it.

Follow up to your point on new straps not fitting - omega has a mesh metal bracelet on their website as well as poly-fabric ones - both at 20mm. Are these similar to the new bracelets you’ve tried or did you try the newest seamaster 300 one?

Both great. Depends on if you prefer a automatic movement or happy with a quartz, the latter is a bit cheaper. Both figured in Brosnan-movies.

They have indeed! I actually sold mine because I got a call from my AD and needed the funds (I'm getting in back sometime in the future). Sold it for $2400.
