3861 Sapphire Sandwich is a thing of beauty. I was worried it was going to be too big for my 17.5cm wrists however it wears smaller than the 42mm dial suggests. The exposed movement is beautiful to look at. Its nice to see that Omega has added on-the-fly adjustment on the clasp since it was released. Also, the new bracelet is not sharp as some may suggest.

How is the Seamaster Diver 300m from your experience? Is it a good watch? I’m thinking I might get a blue one, but I’m still trying to decide. If I do get a Speedmaster, I will only get an 1861 or 1863, if I can. If not, then I will get a Seamaster 300m.

@@JoseJoeable So here is my take the Seamaster is an awesome watch. The only thing that I didnt realize that I wouldnt end up liking over time is the bracelet and end links. The case is perfection for a sports watch. Exquisite to look at and doesn't get old. What gets old is the bracelet. At first you wouldn't think it's that bad but after a few years It made me really dislike the watch. The loon and feel just doesn't age well in its appearance. The case is art and the bracelet feels old and tooltastic. The two just don't blend that well. If the seamaster had a bracelet like the speedy pro it would be the best sports watch imo. Now onto the speedy. Its extremely classy and more understated than you would think but at the same time it has a way of drawing your attention when you look at it. At times it may seem diminutive but that's because I like larger watches Even the the speedy at 41 feels like a 39 on my 7.5 inch. This does add however to its feel of sophistication. The bracelet just ties it all together. It's the most comfortable luxury watch I've owned. It tends to want to dissappear but then when you glance at the time it surprises you with all her glory. Wearing the speedy I feel as if I have something very special, something that while unexplainable is something that has an heirloom feel to it. Something that's at another level because of what it represents. The Seamasters case is eye candy while the Speedy has a feel and look that will grow with you forever. I wasn't going to buy another luxury watch because the speedy truly checks off so many boxes but I am going to buy again the Tudor BB I've realized that I do need a sport watch and instead of going back with the seamaster I'm going to rebuy the Tudor BB. I had the blue bezel going to get the black bezel this time. With those two watches I'm set for life. Hope this helps

If you don’t mind me asking do you plan to get the Black Bay heritage or Black Bay 58? I really like the Black Bay 58 it may look small, but I think it’s a prefect and comfortable size. I’ve seen a few in display cases for sale, but I’ve only seen them come in a nato or leather strap. Another plus for me is I prefer leather strap over stainless steel bracelet. And another thing is I don’t really like the rivets. For sure if I got a black bay, I’d get the 58.

I have both the ceramic steel Daytona (black dial) and the new Speedmaster in Hesalite version. Purchased both watches in February, 2021 (one day apart). I like both watches but I have to admit that I found myself wearing the Speedmaster more than the Daytona. As crazy as it sounds, I am actually looking to add another Speedmaster to my collection but this time, a Sapphire sandwich version. After watching your video, it makes me want even more. Cheers!!

The bracelets are available separately and will pair with previous models very nicely too. The differences are minimal except for the bracelet imo

Speedmaster is a classic, if you have one from any generation it will suffice or if you are a collector then this one has a few changes that will let buyers justify having multiple :)

The taper is definitely on the thinner side but I found it to look very classy and vintage inspired.

I have an 8.5 inch wrist, when I first had the watch I had doubts about the thin taper on the bracelet but having had it for a few months I actually prefer it. I came from a Planet ocean chronograph which is much bigger. This new Speedmaster is perfect.

I did not notice any sharpness at all. It sort of hovers over my wrist as opposed to digging in. Extremely comfortable watch.

No... it is no more sharp than the back edges of the newer Rolex Datejust and oyster perpetual models. I would call the edges crisp.

And Daytona you just can not buy anywhere .... and these are not a problem :) i have to say I prefer the 50th Anniversary limited edition but $$$$ Also does this watch really have only 5 bar/ATM water resistance? I expected 100m

Yes, that is true. The daytona has the oyster case which is why it can handle 100m but the speedie was not designed with the intent of water. 50m is still enough to get you through the most of what one does in normal life though. As for diving etc. there are other watches for that :)

I believe I have a very balanced collection, I have about 8-10 watches which are the meat of my collection and a bunch of cheaper seiko 5's which I just throw on as fun watches and don't really consider part of my main collection. I sell/trade and I state it in my videos when I do.

From a technical perspective the Omega is superior to the Rolex in every significant way. Rolex are a great marketing company and an average watch company. Put the Kool Aid down.

God these Rolex boot lickers are funny. I love Rolex, but I also love other watches. Rolex doesn’t make the best watches in the world, not even close. AP, Patek, JLC, Lange..etc.. are all higher quality and not mass produced like Rolex. Omega is just as good as Rolex, Rolex just knows how to advertise and feed into hype.

Goodness they've destroyed a good watch.. it's still not a high end watch brand as these fanboys like to portray.. they're even putting themselves with the likes of PP, AP and ALS. And anybody who buys a speedmaster professional is automatically someone who can't get a Daytona .. go figure. Speedmaster professional somehow has a way of getting on your romantic side. It's emotional hard to explain. The Daytona is a cold piece of jewelry. I think that's why you see the King of Netherlands, joe Biden, Ryan Reynolds, etc wear Speedmasters... maybe they can't afford a Daytona 😋. After holding a PP/ALS in your hand, go back to looking at your Rolex and Omega..then you will understand mass produced watches vs haute horologie. Rolex is just same as Omega.. nothing more.
