Was a very wholesome moment with Omega Dad. I started watching your channel when your first rebuild popped in my recommended tab (I think it was either Spurs or Newcastle?) and Omega Dad is one of the biggest reasons I've stuck around and watched basically all of your videos since then. Wow, what a video. Luke got smashed by Dad, big time. Tbh this Madrid side was so much stronger and on the rise, while Barcelona, even with Neymar coming in, was declining. Money-wise it was a huge difference as well. What I have also noticed is how good Porto was back then. So many amazing players coming from this team every season. Wonderful gift for Dad as well! Really great to watch you two, Dad and Son, doing vids together. Purely unique! Merry Christmas!

They absolutely weren't even remotely declining, they won a treble literally the very next season, and they were about to hit their stride again after a very slight down period. This was the season before they signed Luis Suarez and formed arguably the greatest attacking trio in history, they won four of the next five LaLiga titles, the next four Copa del Rey's in a row, and the next Champions League.

But what happened next? Nothing. This team started to tumble. And even tho they won few La Liga titles, they were after UCL. And Madrid dominated there, thoroughly and absolutely.

@@piotrwoejko5857 This trend of people thinking that unless you win the Champions League every year it's not a success really needs to end. To win *A* Champions League, four domestic cups in a row, and four out of five league titles is absolutely, unequivocally not a decline. Messi, Neymar, and Suarez are celebrated as probably the greatest front three ever for a reason. The league is your bread and butter, and to dominate your league over 38 games four out of five years is what it's all about. You can't just off-handedly say "even though they won a few LaLiga titles" like it's nothing, that's a big deal. The Champions League is a cup competition, anything can happen, look at Barca coming back to beat PSG 6-1, look at Liverpool coming back to beat Barcelona, all manner of crazy one off shit happens, to sustain it over 38 games a season in your domestic league shows a teams mettle, and I'm tired of this mentality that the Champions League is the be all end all and anything else doesn't matter. Barcelona had Spanish football locked down and under their rule for the next five years, they weren't in decline.

@@jonathanb1406 but Barcelona were after the UCL back then, they wanted more for Messi. Club was fixated on the UCL. They were signing players like Coutinho, Dembele and Griezmann with the sole purpose or helping Messi win another UCL. To no avail. And it led the club into huge debts, while UCL has become a disaster and source of constant embarassment. I am happy with those League titles we’ve won, so dont get me wrong. Still we failed in what we wanted to achieve. While Madrid kept winning.

​@@piotrwoejko5857 Everyone's after the Champions League though, that's what makes it difficult, and why so few rarely retain it. Even Real Madrid winning three in a row I treat as an anomaly cause it's not like they were amazing three years in a row, cause they were simultaneously getting further and further away from domestic success, they only really got a foothold back domestically once Barcelona basically imploded, and that coincided with them going back to winning Champions League's at a normal rate, which is to say, once in five years. Don't underestimate how hard it is to win a league title four times in five years. To sustain form and prove yourself the best team in the country over 190 league games across five years, winning 141 of them and only losing 17 with four league titles to show for it is incredibly hard to improve upon, besides literally being perfect, and then you take in to account that they also won four domestic cups in a row at the same time _and_ a Champions League. That is incredible. It's only Real Madrid winning those three Champions Leagues consecutively that skew the perception of it because most clubs would be happy with one Champions League in five years.

I wanted to share something with you Luke and Dad. It's very rare for me to comment on a video, but I felt this time that I needed to. I first watched you during FM19 when looking for a quick tactic, when later FM's had already come out. I found one of your videos, it worked a bloody treat, I came back to it, just to leave a thank you comment on the video. Your response was something along the lines of "if you liked this, you should see my newer videos". Couldn't hurt, I'll give one a go. I then watched what I later found out was one of the first videos Omega Dad was in. Rewatching it again, Omega Dad - respectfully - at the time had little to no FM knowledge, terrible tactical decisions, and needed you to hold his hand every step of the way. I was hooked, and have been ever since. I don't play FM anymore, nor do I watch ANY other FM content, at all. Yet, with you two, I haven't missed a single upload ever since. I feel a lot of it is down to the father-son duo. A perfect blend of the camera-sharp, brand-building, FM wizard Luke, with the compliment of a traditional, fiercely-knowledgeable footie fan with facts pouring out of his ears, with a sharp eye for banter, and an almost innocent warmth that only a dad like him can bring. Bringing all of that to the current day, he now has his own FM, and is rather sharp at the game now. He's developed further in FM than I could ever have imagined. (I'm sure you too, Luke!) Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. And to think, he gives you a bloody good run for your money now most episodes. Now I'm licking my lips at the prospect of weekly uploads of the two of you doing Glory Hunter together in the same universe. The ultimate challenge for Omega Dad. I'm not even sure what the underlying message of this comment is to be honest. I guess I just wanted you to know that you two have something very special here. Many others like me see the father-son duo as the standout reason to watch whatever you upload. You're smashing it right now, and sky's the limit chaps! I really hope you guys read this. Just know that some chap in South Africa who is long beyond his FM days, has this channel and only this channel as his very favorite, and I watch way more KZbin than I should admit. I'll be honest, I've known about this channel for years and might have watched one video every couple of months, but now I pretty much watch them all. The whole versus aspect in rebuilds and the head-to-head style with an in depth scoring system is genius. Nothing against Luke personally, always did high quality videos and was a good personality in the FM space, but the whole father vs son dynamic is something I think we can all appreciate and live somewhat vicariously through the banter and relationship you guys have. I’ve worked in construction for 10 years and started it all with my dad, we worked alone for 2 years before joining a bigger company together. My dad retired this year and I have moved far away to my girlfriend’s hometown to start a family with her. So I went from seeing my dad and working with him basically everyday for 9 years to seeing him only once this year. Seeing you two together hits me really hard and I think of all the time I’ve gotten to spend with him, which I otherwise wouldn’t have done. I know you do, but enjoy the time you have together in front of your pc cause one day life moves on way to quick❤

I just loved the present, I don't think I've ever seen a more wholesome moment on KZbin. Dad is the reason why I watch, he is just amazing (i love you too Luke, fellow man united fan). These rebuilds and holidaying showed me a new way of playing. I have limited time to play FM these days, so I have a save I play normally but also multiple saves I play in a rebuild way Allows me to get many saves I’d like to do done in the small amount of time I have to play, so thank you
