Both ladies SLAYED this. As someone familiar with Angela through Starkid and Smosh, I always knew she was funny and a good actor. I knew she could convey intense depth while maintaining comedy (see Lex from the Hatchetfield Universe from Starkid). But there are such subtle things she does in this role that STUN me. When she's singing "One... Two... Three strikes you're out," her expression is slowly growing dimmer, like she's nauseous. She has this ever so slight hesitation on "twice" that confirms something is terribly wrong. Then the actress and the camera and the audio all come together to just double, triple, and quadruple down. It really captures the feeling of nausea for me personally, especially when it occurs at a VERY bad time. There are so many things to love about this short film: how real it feels, how it avoids shock and melodrama, how it feels lovely but sad, like a lot of life can be. It also leaves us with a little hope: these strangers will see each other again not as strangers, but acquaintances that might one day be real friends. The description under the video ends with the perfect line to describe all of this short: "These two women are trying to hold on and keep it together, tiptoeing through emotional minefields without triggering anything destabilizing. By the end, it evokes no less than the courage it takes to make it through a day without falling into the abyss -- and how we help one another through, with the simple yet profound act of witness."

I know those films don’t usually win Oscar’s, or anything, but I wish this film would. The way they portray this strained and anxious bond is just beautiful. It’s so amazing how they showed this awkward understanding between them. They have nothing in common- not their age, not their problems. But underneath all that they both recognize, see and understand, because in the end- they are both human.

This film is so phenomenal I’m about to watch it a third time. That’s something I only do when a film is truly outstanding. This one’s a Triple Threat; the acting, the cinematography, and the scriptwriting are brilliant. Another thing I greatly appreciate is that there’s no pretentiousness. Neither actress appears to be “performing” at any point. Instead, they have me fully believing they’re simply “being”. So much, in fact, that I didn’t recognise Angela from the Smosh channel the first go round, which really confirms her talent because she’s one of my absolute favourites in the troop! Wow! This is so good! I thankfully don't have these struggles but know they are so common and overbearing for many people! Very well acted by them both! Love the unfussed support from the neighbour. As someone who needs support for other reasons, having the people helping you be just chill about it goes such a long way. No coddling but no harshnes. Just direct and non-dramatic. Glad I heard about it through Angela being in it! As someone who is used to seeing her as a chaotic comedy goblin, it's always lovely to see the other facets to her talents.

Everyone did so good with this! Kate and Angela are lovely in their roles, the editing was just enough to make you know when Angela is struggling but isn't overbearing, whoever wrote this script kept me enthralled on...a day. Just a simple day.

Phenomenal subtlety and delivery from both ladies here! As a Smosh fan I will also happily shout how proud I am of Ang for portraying and sharing a story so close to her heart. You inspire people babes, and you are beautiful, inside and out!

I just realized the reason they made them sing while they went to the bathroom is to keep them from vomiting what they ate. A small but sad detail

That was really lovely. There are layers to this but its also just quiet, comforting, and encouraging. Clicked for Angela, stayed for the art.

I've wanted to see Guts since the first time I saw it mentioned on Angela's ig stories 😢❤ it's wonderful!

Outstanding chemistry between the two actors, I came here because I love Angela's antics at Smosh and really loved seeing her excel so much at her own field. She's truly gifted and an underrated actress.

Omygod. I came for Angela but stayed for the story. I didn’t knew this would rip my soul out but it was AMAZING. Two lonely strangers going through completely different things yet finding a level of comfort within each other. Beautifully done

The confidence in trash talking the sandwich to then feeling worried about the bathroom a second later ..i felt that. 💯

This made me emotional. After working with people struggling with mental health, it has made me realise how important it is to have moral support in your life. Doesn't matter if it's only from a stranger while trying to eat a pb and j sandwich. Good work, guys!

This felt like it went by in less than a minute. So beautifully capturing a day in the life of an individual. She becomes a character that I empathize with and feel proud of in such a small amount of time. Even though I do not relate to her struggles with eating, I recognize and relate to how human she is in a day of her healing journey.

As someone who is currently going through struggles with food, this gave me the extra strength to keep going. I have a great respect for both actresses and how the entire cast and crew put so much into a beautiful piece of art. We all struggle with something, compassion and understanding can go a long way ❤

Film was fun but quirky all the way up to the point she was looking in the mirror and it suddenly hit me why a center for treating eating disorders would want you to sing if you went to the bathroom right after eating. The acting in this was top notch from both actors, but man that look in her eyes in the mirror.

Okay but why did the directing, writing, and performances all go this hard? It was so effortlessly funny!
