We don't know either way if he really knew or not. But based on Collins reaction (obvious shock) when he finds out that she was pregnant and the baby died, I would trust that he genuinely didn't know. So to hold him responsible for it seems rather ridiculous in that context. Keep in mind also that George would have been a small child when it all happened so his understanding of the complexity of the situation and who knew what would have been rather limited - Obviously he took on some of his father's anger and carried it around with him for years - it made him bitter and vengeful toward someone he didn't even know. That is certainly not something to praise or aspire to.

Nobody's talking about one little detail: What happened to Paul!? My hypothesis is that since they thought Paul was the father for years, that means the diary wasn't found/checked till years later after Lucy's suicide. And George said they can't ask Paul about who the father is because what happened to Paul ...so there is a possibility that their father killed Paul before George read Lucy's diary, and why it took so long for George to find Colin is because there was some years that the family thought they already killed the Lucy's love interest Paul until George who didn't believe it was Paul found and read the diary.

Great short. Well done. I love the choice to have the one shot on Colin until the audience confirms George knows it was him. Great acting, great writing, great colour and timing/pacing as well. Really great.

So much to love about this, the acting is superb, love the moment we see George 's face, the angry expression, hard eyes then the smile and slight laugh which does nothing to mask his stated intention to enact justice on Colin. I could watch this over and over.

that was so good! Such a slow impending sense of yes, suffocating for the main character... Very well done. Very unexpected premise.

A powerful, unfolding work in such a short period of time. I, too, wondered how the brother knew that Colin was Irish. When George revealed his sister's suicide, I think Colin realized his role in it at the same time I did. Wonderful storytelling, pacing and acting job by the actor playing Colin. Thank you. Richard

There is such restraint from the stranger, laying out bits and pieces slowly. "But I enjoyed that" lol. You just know that these two aren't finished. Very well done. I also liked how the camera focused on Colin for most of the film so the viewer caught ever facial expression.
