I sold the same style gunne sax dress but in a midi length in the ditsy floral print, a holy grail print. It sold for 500 on ebay in a few weeks, I listed it high at 900 but it had a rip that I repaired, stains, and I only paid 6 dollars for it, so I took it. It had a ton of offers and interest on ebay but I held out until I got the number I was okay with. They seems to sell much better on ebay vs poshmark. It'll be a good sale!!! Amazing find!

I wore a Gunne Sax Mall Store dress as my bridal gown. Boy do I wish I still had it! I have been selling on Ebay since 1998 and whenever I score a truly hard to find, rare, high demand item, I go high on the price. I take into consideration that some people are in situations that money is not an issue, if they want it they will pay up for it! I once sold a vintage Brown's Beach red barn coat (they moved to Worcester in the early 1900's so they are a local score) for $1750 within one hour to a buyer out of LA. Paid all but $14 for it at the Bridgewater Salvation Army store. Another buyer reached out to me and told me my price was crazy, that I would never sell it for that amount. But out there was someone with expendable funds who wanted this truly unique vintage piece. I will tell you that sale made my Christmas, single mother with two kids, thank you to the thrift store angels. Just my two cents - I was shouting at the tube for you to go higher, higher!! The sky's the limit! Love your channel, hope to bump into you someday while out on the New England hunt.

It’s so beautiful! I sold a very similar one (colors and floral print) but the velvet part was a corset in 2021 for $490. I had such a hard time pricing it and of course it sold immediately so I second guessed myself for weeks 🙃 I have sold three in my reselling career, I agree it’s so exciting to find one!

Hi Lori, sometimes those associates are wrong! You should have trusted your instinct unless that particular store does it different. In my store I just had that exact scenario...only it was for summer items 40% off. I used my 20% coupon for the things NOT included in the 40% and it worked fine. We have self-checkout. It only took an additional $2.50 off though because I didn't buy much to begin with. BUT in that little haul I bought a pair of mens NIKE Hyperstrong Football shorts 3/4 length and I paid $6 with that 40% off and in just 1 hour after listing I sold for $120. Who hoo. I am a bit jealous / envious of your Gunne Sax finds. Wow, congrats. You will have to tell us what you get for it when it sells. I have never found one yet...6 years and not one. Maybe someday...I know them well. I wore them back in the late 70's: 1 had 2, one I wore to prom blue velvet with small blue flowers and lace size 7-8, one for my engagement picture in pretty pastel florals and lace - Interesting fact here: my fiance' spent his whole paycheck on that engagement dress LOL. Hmmm I might still have...but where? You should aim high on the dress. Rare, think of condition and size and desirability. List for $995 and wait for your buyer. I wouldn't take less than $800 myself. I'd just wait. What's the rush? I'm sure not many size 11's around. BYW, love that jacket. You should keep it! :-). I'm native american so of course I love that print. I wish it fit me but I'm going to look for one like it in larger size. Ok back to watching and listing.

Congrats on your amazing find! I found one Gunne Sax dress early in my reselling career. I did recognize the brand; however, I talked myself out of buying it as it had some staining. Another reseller sold the dress for $60, so lesson learned. I also found a Gunne Saxe Victorian-inspired blouse earlier this year. Maybe the dress was used by a bridesmaid for a hippie wedding. Those styles of wedding looks were so popular in the 1970’s. Like most brides maid dresses, no matter how lovely, never worn again.

I am thrilled for you on the Gunne Sax find. I want to share my Gunne Sax story. I have been reselling now for one year in September. I typically go thrift shopping with my sister here in SC. One of our first thrifting trips we went to a small thrift shop and my sister found a Gunne Sax and we didn't get it. We had no idea it was worth anything, but in our defense, we were not educated enough yet. Well, several months later we were watching one of our KZbin reselling favorite channels and found out we made a huge mistake. We went back, but of course it was gone. Now we are on the hunt for another one. Will we be lucky enough to find one? I certainly hope so. But, I would be just as thrilled as you were! Happy hunting!!
