It's also bc the ost tracks are actually different songs from the bgm, the songs played in KI. Mick actually said in a documentary going over his creative process for most of his songs that he doesn't believe in direct music ports and remixes it to make them a full song

This is basically a re-imagining of the classic Killer Instinct main theme from way back in 1994. It is one of the most iconic and memorable video game tracks of all time, and arguably the most iconic fighting game track. Mick Gordon did an amazing job with it.

I'm a big KI fan from the old days and I love the tune but the game track is far from most iconic, I reckon a large number of gamers wouldn't know what game this is from unless they played KI. In fact I did a quiz with a group of friends and this tune was in it and they didnt get it. Where as Guile's theme, MK's "techno Syndrome" are probably the most iconic not to mentiona few other capcom gems people who have never played a street fighter game will likely know Ryu, Kens theme or at the very least know Guiles due to it's cult like status in memes. Again fricking love the orignal and new KI's and have many of the original and Mick Gordon pieces on my phone.

Thats the beauty about Mick's style with composing themes and songs. Every single beat, he adds something that never repeats. Usually other composers tend to repeat riffs and beats with the exact same instruments or vocals used but Mick? Every beat has something unique.

It's not light, it's the transition. From the start line to beginning of the race, the bell the starts the fight, the time to snap, the time to lose all composure and focus solely on survival. Mick Gordon is famous for giving the correct feeling eith his music

I know everyone's asking for the rest of the Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, and Killer Instinct OSTs since they're all amazing, but I'd love to recommend some of his less popular songs from Prey 2017. The OST is slower, electronic, and kinda cyberwave and I love it. I really like "Everything's Going to Be Okay" and "Alex's Theme"

I' ve loved the KI soundtrack since I first heard it well over 20 years ago playing it on the ol' Super Nintendo. Hard to believe the main theme (the instinct) is still the same tune! Only now it's been upgraded and utterly DEMANDS your attention. Anyway, came across this channel by searching up this song. Once I saw your enthusiasm, I absolutely HAD to subscribe just because you CLEARLY have a similar appreciation for this music. Song gives me goosebumps EVERY time I listen to it! I wanna point out the similarities between this track and Little by Little by Robert Plant. The Instinct is like a metal re-imagining of a specific melody in that song, and if you hear it once you'll never unhear it. While listening to Little by Little I was struck with how familiar it sounded, then remembered this!

This is actually the Killer Instinct theme composed by Robin Beanland for the original game in 1994. Mick Gordon rearranged it here for the 2013 reboot along with some other tracks, in addition to original compositions. Just wanted to make it clear that he didn't compose this tune himself. Great arrangement, though!

Mick sneaked in this theme into all tracks for the game, and a guitar riff from the original track is in a background in the breakdown of this one and some others. And after that he got "NO GUITARS" in the next job's brief, although we know the outcome.

The music in this game also changes depending on what's happening in the match. If both characters are sitting full screen it'll usually play the quieter and slower part of the song. The more the fight goes the more intense the track will get and even some combos will synch the song to the hits of the combo. It's really good. Also Warlord and Enter the Battletoad are two you should listen to if you're going down the Killer Instinct rabbit hole. Heck even the old arcade game had good music in it and the same melody that it's in this main theme

Holy smokes man! If you loved this track, there's so many insane tracks on Killer Instinct, and I can't wait to see you react to more of these! My favorite themes belong to... Jago, Sabrewulf, Glacius, Thunder, Orchid, Spinal, TJ Combo, Maya, Hisako, Aganos, and Cinder. Season 3 was done by celldweller, and out of his these ones I enjoyed.
