Steven is indeed still alive and well, and clean for more than a decade now. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting him backstage and seeing his band perform two nights in a row in May 2019 (Penn's Peak, PA followed by the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, MD). He was super cool, laid back, and welcomed my friend and me by greeting us both with a big, friendly hug as if he had known us for years and seemed genuinely happy to meet us and spend some time together...a cherished memory I shall never forget!

Sebastian Bach, the best hard rock voice of the era in my opinion. First "heavy metal" band to have their album debut at number 1 on the Billboard. That album was Slave to the Grind and I can still listen to it today, 30 years after it came out, front to back without skipping a song. They took a chance thatvyou didn't see a lot and came out with their sophomore album WAAAAY heavier than their debut album. So far, you really haven't picked a song that ROCKED IT HARD. Try "Youth Gone Wild" their debut single, or "Monkey Business" or "Slave to the Grind" to hear Sebastian nail hard rock vocals.

I understand the frustration of dealing w/ someone who is an addict or recovering addict... it's tough cos they are messed up and u can't be near them cos they are like black holes - they suck u into their chaos of self-destruction. Having shared living spaces w/ alcoholics, every day I came home from work, there's always a problem... when u confront them, they get defensive, agitated and attack you! And you can't convince an addict that they have a problem. I recall Jamey Jasta, lead vocalist of the band Hatebreed, saying he tried helping friends, bandmates, etc. struggling w/ addictions... spent thousands of dollars on rehab services, counseling... and ended up losing their friendships anyway. It was a bitter pill to accept that people are beyond help. Lou 'Boulder' Richards (former Hatebreed guitarist) was a perfect example - he died in 2006 @ age 35 after leaving the band in 2002. Both Paul Gray (bass) and Joey Jordison (drums) from Slipknot lost their lives... it's tragic when poor health & addictions end a talented musician's life 😪
