You made my day reacting to this!! This was written by Sebastian about his friend Steve Adler, former drummer of Guns and Roses. He was addicted to heroin and it was out of control. The horse represents "H"... Steve did end up getting clean and didnt die. The lyrics are Bars! Another great song is Youth Gone Wild and 18 & Life, Monkey Business. Thank you for a great reaction! Sebastian just dropped a couple of brand new music videos, and I can tell you.... he STILL has those pipes! Yeah, visually, he's showing his age..... but damn does he still sound amazing! My first wife and I met him after a show back in the early 2000s, and he was a very nice guy. Took a few minutes for each and every fan that waited around after the show to meet him. No extra charge for that, either. The picture I took of him and my wife, her portion of it became the portrait tattoo I got on my chest after she died in 2006 from cancer. Sebastian is definitely a class act, all the way!
@violetvillard13477 күн бұрын
I met him in 2008 at Akron's Barley House after a Poison concert where he opened for them. He was just walking around, no body guards, and talking to everyone & letting them take a picture w/ him. My friend drug me across the bar to meet him & I was dumbstruck. When I finally found my boice I asked for a picture with him & then he hugged me. He was so nice but also so tall to my short 5'4" self. lol

@@violetvillard1347 No joke! The dude is VERY fan friendly, which I find very rare. I met him in..... maybe 2003, I think? With my first wife. To her, he said, "Pretty as a Rose (her name)!" and because he'd read the t-shirt I had on at that time (My parents said I could be anything, so I became an asshole).... his message to me was also funny, referencing that t-shirt.

Sebastian Bach's voice has a magical quality that allows it to blend seamlessly with any context or melody. In this particular song, you can feel the anguish he experienced. He was mourning the loss of his friend, Steven Adler, who was struggling with drug addiction. The horse is a metaphor for the drug. It was a loss, not physically, because Steven Adler wasn’t dead; he didn't die. But someone addicted, I guess, is dead inside. The emotion in Sebastian’s singing is truly heart-wrenching, and the guitar solo echoes the sound of a cry. His “screams” are filled with the pain he must have felt for his friend. Luckily for him, Stevan Adler survived the addiction, but at some point, he had a stroke due to his abuse of drugs. If you react to songs like Monkey Business, you will find another differentiation in his voice. Quicksand Jesus is just another interpretation of Sebastian’s voice. I am glad you reacted to this song. I hope for more from Skid Row :)

Sebastian is solo for several years. He just dropped two new singles and I believe there’s an album coming soon. I saw him in the Broadway show Jekyll and Hyde. My 80 year old mom had a massive crush on him. LOL. Took her to the play for Mother’s Day that year. His show are mostly festivals and small venues. He’s aged and his voice is lower so the high notes aren’t as high. But the hair still glows and his personality is still pretty outrageous. Keep in mind, that when he recorded I Remember You, he was 21. At 56, still young, he still does weed and wine. He’s a wild guy. And when he’s drinking? He’s almost scary. He did a TV series, 2006, called Supergroup. Bunch of rockers from other band get together to cut an album. They live in a Hollywood mansion to write and record. His alcohol abuse was raging. Was an enlightened view of rock behind the scenes. Still can find the episodes on KZbin Tube.

Regarding the lyrics, "You said you'd never let me down, but the horse stampedes and rages," Horse is a popular name for heroin. The song starts out with lighter drugs like cannabis, and moves onto harder drugs like ecstasy and cocaine and then finishes with heroin. The song ends with the line, "I thought you'd never let it get this far," which was another reference to Adler's heroin addiction. In the video the actor is seen injecting the drug in a public toilet at this line.

You have to hear "In a darkened room " and " Quicksand Jesus " by this band.

Wow...Holy smokes his vocals in this are really crazy good...Reminds me of someone I spent 18 years trying to not watch him drink himself to death besides all the hard drugs he took...yes he dies at age of 58 sadly. scorisis of the liver had him, but hospital let him fall, broke his leg, had to do surgery, then the drugs they gave him for surgery sent him into organ failure...6 painful days of watcbing him slowly die...Still haunts me when i have to go into a hospital...Monkey Business is another good song...

I saw Sebastian Bach live in 2013, and he still sounded fantastic 25 years down the road

White horse was at one time a name for heroine. The song was written by Sebastian Bach about a close friend who had a severe heroine addiction.

You asked about the horse, a rampaging horse is a symbol of futility and false power, it can rebel and kick, but is still captured and secured

If you want to check out a ballad from his solo career,check out 'By Your Side'.In my opinion, neither Bach or the Band reached as high separately as they did together,but this is close.

His voice is glorious! I got to see him on stage in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar back in the early 00s. I melted in my seat. 💜 Thanks for the reaction.

Did you know that Sebastian Bach has his own band and is making music again?

If my memory serves me correct, Jon Bon Jovi was hanging out at the studio or something and someone told him to come listen to this band and see what he thought. That band was Skid Row. John Bon Jovi was then their champion and helped them get a record deal. Not 100% sure, but if my memory serves me right, that’s what happened.

When we got the cd and heard this song for the first time, my friends and I went fucking crazy. Bas' vocals on this one are raw and strong with emotion for his dear friend. Steves still here, bless his heart.

My favorite song by them. His voice just penetrates the soul

18 and life like others have said! That was my first song from them I heard and fell in love instantly! Other 80s bands you might like are Cinderella and Poison! Tesla was also coming up in the 80s. I saw my first concert at 10 years old, my dad took me to see Poison and Tesla opened for them. Poison was a huge, huge band back then and it's weird how Tesla really became iconic further in their career. We were supposed to go see Bon Jovi with Skid Row as the opening band the next weekend after my first concert but my dad got called into work and had to give away the tickets so unfortunately I never got to see either Bon Jovi or Skid Row live tho I've seen over 400 other bands in my 44 years on this planet!
