Saddest song ever...he wrote it to help deal with the pain of the tragic death of his 4 year old son who accidentally fell out a window.

Don't listen to people complaining that you misinterpreted the song and saying you should look up the meaning behind a song before you react to it, I really enjoyed hearing your interpretation. One of the great things about art is that how we experience and interpret it is entirely subjective, meaning that different people can find different likes and dislikes, take different meanings, etc, from the same piece of art. What's more, Eric Clapton seemed fine with the meaning of his song being reinterpreted for this movie, so much so that he himself included clips from the movie in his music video. As such, I don't see why anyone should have a problem with your interpretation given you didn't know the story behind the song. Anyway, keep reacting.

If you like Blues music, you should definitely listen to his blues songs, some of the best. He's also sang and played with about every great Blues Player their is, and was. He's actually one of the greatest guitar players ever. Loved when he, and The late great BB King played together.

The movie playing in the background is an absolute soul crusher and in my opinion a must-watch. when he performed this for the first time at MTV's Unplugged it was one of the moments in music, you remember where you were when you saw it. like its still one of the hardest watches. the fact that he didn't spiral completely out of control with his demons after his tragedy is just one of those miracles.

Not just any open window, but shockingly, one from a high-rise building. And it is pronounced “clap” (like applause”.

Among other groups, Eric Clapton was in The Yardbirds (1963-1965), John Mayhall and the Blues Breakers (1966), Cream (1966-1968), Blind Faith (1969), Derek & the Dominos (1970-1971), and a solo career to the present (he's still playing) 👍

First of all, you may like to know that, in the late 60s, word on the streets was; "Clapton is God!" The man is one of, if not, the GREATEST guitar players of all time. What is so humbling about this song is, none of that matters here, this is not about 'showing off' it's about 'loss' - a massive, gut wrenching, heart tearing; loss...

Maybe his most famous and iconic song is 'Wonderful Tonight'. Very romantic. I have been to countries where people don't know English but during a party many can sing this song.

Clips are from the movie Rush which used the song in its soundtrack a great movie but Clapton wrote this song well before the movie about the death or his four year old son - the actors are Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jason Patric - the song itself has nothing to do with the movie

I was not born when this song was released but when I listened to it I started crying because I remember those loved ones that I lose. Like my friend he killed in Ukraine, I lost my grandpa, I lost my uncle to COVID he became my second father while my dad works abroad and now I lost my dog on November 1, 2023 and the other on March 16, 2024.

This is your channel with your brother and just know that you're doing just beautifully. You do your reactions the way you want. If they want to go start a channel then oh well😅

I really like you, but you're being conned by the movie clips. Never mind the video/movie clips....it was not really created for the movie, they just used it. Tirth: Eric's little son Conor fell from a window of a 53rd floor New York apartment building owned by his mother's friend in 1991. Clapton wrote the song "Tears in Heaven" following his son's death, and the song tells about the pain and loss Clapton felt.. Not your fault, but that's WHY it was written. You can see the pain on his face at the end. I always get emotional when I hear this...I lost my younger brother to cardiac arrest 4 years ago. I'm the last one left of my original family, and so many cousin aunts uncles and grand parents gone. My brother was the other half of my memories.

The theme of the song has nothing to do with the background (video of a dramatic film). It has to do with the death of Eric Clapton's son. Connor was a 4-year-old boy who fell out of a window of an apartment in a huge building in New York without anyone at home noticing. They used the musical theme for the film that appears in the background of the video clip.

I don't see how Clapton allowed this song to be used for this ridiculous movie. He wrote this song about seeing his son in heaven and to show those dumb scenes during this song reduces the meaning of the song. Just my opinion. Love your reactions.

Please read about the song meanings before reviewing them.... it will give you a much better insight to what you are listening to ..... especially for songs like this..... It was nothing to do with the movie but a catastrophic incident that happened in Claptons life when his young son fell from a balcony at a New York apartment block and sadly died...

Great reaction! A beautiful song, but IMO, the video is distracting due to the movie clips. It detracts from the meaning of lyrics.
