Tom was down to his last cigarette, power cut off, sitting out front of his place when he wrote this song. He went inside and told his gf Nova he just wrote the song that would change their lives... He recorded it right away, ran an extension cord from the neighbor to light one red light, shot the video (Nova does all of his videos), and posted it to Facebook that night. He woke up the next morning and it had 2 million views. Tom spent about 5 years trying to make it in hip hop, emulating those who have made it, singing about the same crap they do. It wasn't until he started writing his own thoughts, from his own perspective, that he made it. Now he's one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, independent rappers in the world. Just be genuine and it all works...

Tom always comes with a message and this was the first of his songs to go viral doing it. 🔥 Hangman and Dear Rappers were put out by Tom directly after he came back from almost a year off while he dealt with a mental breakdown. I look on those songs as the before/after mark for Tom's music. Those were the first two songs Tom released after he decided to start making the music that deliberately had a message he wanted to say in it. In his earlier stuff, the foundation's there, you can see what he would become, and some of the songs are great, but a lot of his stuff was about what everyone else was singing about - partying, girls, money, etc. That's the lifestyle that led Tom to have his breakdown and he spent those months at his mother's really self-reflecting, making decisions for the direction on the rest of his life and what he was going to do with his music. In Hangman, he was still struggling and had relapsed. He and Nova had just become a couple after about 10 years of being best friends. Then he wrote Dear Rappers and it went viral in only a few days. The rest is history. The story behind Dear Slim: Tom bought an NFT at auction for $100,000 that included a beat produced by Eminem called 'Stan's Revenge'. He took the beat and made an extension of the Stan video, as if he had survived the downing. It's not the video you'd expect at all. God given talent cannot be explained or described. Tom is a soldier of God. Trust me, I have learned and experienced almost 3 years of who he is. I’ve watched him pour his heart out, saw him angry, seen and heard countless accounts of him stopping people from committing suicide, (myself included) I’ve witnessed his work ethic, loyalty, dedication, courage, passion, selflessness, intelligence, as well as the biggest heart a person could imagine. He stands firm on respecting this country and that we are “one nation under God!” His creativity is like nothing I’ve ever seen! He’s unmatchable and untouchable by anyone, neither mainstream or independent! Tom’s influence is opening minds and hearts all over the world! It’s actually trickling into political offices! Donald Trump’s son DT Jr. started following Tom on Twitter about a year or so ago! Take that for what you will, but I know he’s talked to his daddy about him! HOG stands for hangovergang. Hangover gang initially is what Tom called his close circle of friends that he would go out and party with. He said the the term stood for having the best time of your life. Over time when he started music he gave that name to his Fanbase. And of course he was drinking and on drugs at that time however, as he became sober, the term “hangovergang” still means having the best time of your life, but without drugs or alcohol!
