Yep, I cringed seeing all those sparks flying!! Looks awesome though, as does the whole car in person. Thanks for letting me take a seat in it today, think I’ll be trading in my R this year :D

I bought some ABS plastic sheeting and fitted it under the vents to divert water away from the air filter or you can just waterproof the bonnet lining and leave it on

Hi mate who done your bonnet vents on your car look good
@roadeyes21247 жыл бұрын
Definitely one of the better installs.

What do you mean, camera was so for away. Should of had one of his on lookers film much closer.
@tracktimevideos51647 жыл бұрын
Look good but this will allow rain and dirt to get under the bonnet much easier. Tempting me a bit but probably not for me.
@cossiepaul55237 жыл бұрын
I wish i had the nerve to put these on my focus rs edition. Credit to the guys fitting the vents. Would have like to see the finish under the bonnet though.

cossie paul I have to admit it took a while to make the decision and I had to leave when he started cutting watching the video first time was a bit like a horror film peeking through my fingers. Every day I see them it confirms it was the right decision though

Not had any myself just make sure you have something under the vents to direct the water away and you’ll be fine

I've had a set of vents to install for 8 months or more but can't think of a way to deal with rain and road grime getting into the engine bay. How are you finding that? Also I bought a new bonnet just so I don't screw up the original!
@philrss4406 жыл бұрын
I’ve water proofed the lining for the winter and until I get a more permanent solution. Thinking of a plastic panel under the vents to channel water away but still working on it
@irelmo696 жыл бұрын
Philf1 would be very interested in your solution as I'm sure some others would be. It's a fine balancing act between looks, cooling and keeping the water off the engine and electrics.
@philrss4406 жыл бұрын
I did this for looks rather than cooling as that isn’t an issue in England! You can use waterproof spray or fit a plastic bin lining over fixed with contact adhesive. Remember this is not a permanent solution and I’ll update when I get something more appropriate sorted out.

What style vents are these as have been looking for a set
@philrss4406 жыл бұрын
The vents are actually from a Jaguar XKR
@roberts7737 жыл бұрын
Nice job where did you get them from considering doing mine but there's a few different types!
@philrss4407 жыл бұрын
I got these from Paintmodz in Blackpool I’ve put a link to their Facebook page in the description. The vents are actually jaguar parts bet they fit the contours of the bonnet better than most others
@philrss4406 жыл бұрын
Just search Jaguar XKR bonnet vents on eBay or contact Chris at paintmodz direct on Facebook he can supply paint and fit them if you want

The vents should have been black. Now you barely can see them
@philrss4406 жыл бұрын
I did seriously consider gloss black but decided to go with body colour for a more subtle look but you're right that they would have been more visible in black
@jonah4062 жыл бұрын
While you're doing that, get rid of that horrible bonnet stay, need Sico developments gas struts
@philrss4402 жыл бұрын
That video was 4 years ago and the strut went shortly afterwards
