It could've ended his stay with the only pro team he has ever known in such a deflating way, capping off an incredibly frustrating season for him individually. But with one swing of the bat, Pete Alonso hit by far the biggest HR of his life, and in doing so not only ensured that wouldnt be his last at bat as a Met, but it would also mean he gets at least another game in front of the only home fans hes ever known as a pro.

I’m a Yankee fan but I can’t see Pete Alonso in another uniform than The Orange and Blue. He deserves to get paid. It’s also been 24 years since The Yankees and Mets went at it in The World Series. Hopefully we’ll have it once again.
@GiantsJets7182 ай бұрын
I’m a Yankee and met fan and to be honest one homer doesn’t change my mind I don’t want him back. He is on a downward trend. He’s never been clutch. Don’t let one moment cloud your mind about him. He will be an albatross in the near future. Getting stuck with a terrible contract.
@MrAquinas12 ай бұрын
@@GiantsJets718 I'm a home team fan too, root for all NY teams. He wouldn't be a bad signing if his agent doesn't delude him about his worth and just gets him a reasonable moderate contract.
@ant53552 ай бұрын
@@GiantsJets718 First of all, how can you be a Yankee and a Mets fan? As a diehard fan that makes me wanna puke. 🤮 Then you say don’t let one clutch moment cloud your judgment because he’s never been clutch? Since when does being clutch override what a player does year in and year out? How about the fact that since Alonso came into the league in 2019 he has the 2nd most Homeruns in all baseball only 6 less than Aaron Judge?? oh and by the way, what did he do in 2019 in his rookie season he said the all-time record for most Home runs as a rookie with 54. Yes it would be nice if he hit for a better average but over his first 6 seasons, his stats come out to .260/97RBIs/38HRs per year and I don’t care what you say any player that puts up those numbers is going to get a huge deal. I would love for him to come back. I just hate the fact that he signed Scott Boris as his agent which automatically means they are going to ask for a minimum of seven years. The Braves signed Matt Olsen to an 8 year $168 million contract and Alonso has been better than him. it would be amazing if Pete settled for a maximum of a six year contract with more money guaranteed per year because then the Mets would entertain that. he’s 29 years old and I’m a strong believer in not signing players to contracts where they will be 37 or 38 years old at the end of it. Mets have to be smart. We will wait and see, but to say that you do not want him back just proves that you’re not a legitimate Mets fan because as I already said no legitimate Mets would be a Yankee fan as well. 🤷🏻♂️ We bleed orange and blue not pinstripes and we suffer more than we celebrate. Grow up and pick a side.

I loved rewatching this. I just noticed the Polar Bear laughing when he made contact , and screaming let’s f’n go while rounding the bases. Greatest Met moment! I loved it. Thanks MLB. What a glorious time to be a Mets fan. Ya gotta believe!!!!!

As a long suffering Mets fan, thank you so mcuh to Mendonza, Lindor, the entire Mets roster and most importantly the Big Polar Bear Pete Alonso for an incredible moment to take us to the 2024 NLDS. Something Mets fan will truly never forget. I absolutely love this team and the heart each and everyone has man. I couldnt stop shaking. OMG!! ON TO THE PHILLIES!

Living these moments with my Dad who showed me what it is to be a Mets fan. Know they have what it takes to go all the way. Lets go Mets!!!!!
This team is close nit. Once on base it's an avalanche. You can't stop the bleeding. GO METS. BELIEVE. WE NEED THIS.

I don’t know. The padres and dodgers match-up is unpredictable. The dodgers are absolutely stacked. Although the padres are probably warmed up and ready to steam roll. So who knows?

Agreed, we've been going through a lot, but it's satisfying to see the Brewers lose in the playoffs.

Thank God my dad got a pacemaker and blood pressure medicine a couple years ago or else idk if could’ve handled this lol. We went from being so low we were almost under the floorboards to nearly exploding through the ceiling with happiness in a second

I was getting ready to come on here and congratulate Brewer fans. I still had some hope left. Then the Polar Bear blasted a 3-run homer outta nowhere. Definitely tough way to lose for the Breweres. They still had a very good season.

I'm not a huge baseball fan, but playoff baseball is insanely entertaining and especially when my Tigers make it once every 10 years lol. This was an awesome game to watch.

Phillies are done. I have zero confidence that we’re going to beat them. Mets are the hottest team in the league and the Phillies slumped into the playoffs. This Mets team is running on devil magic just like us in 2022. We’re gonna go full 2022-2023 Braves.

I said this - the Mets will do to Philly what they did the Braves the last two years.
