I have come to the conclusion that I personally don’t need to exercise. Thanks to Northants, all I have to do is listen to Nigel magnet fish for a good workout. I don’t even have to watch the clip (that’s just a bonus). Now I just have to convince my wife that I so relate to Nigel’s exhaustion and dedication that I don’t need to use that damn exercise bike she bought me. Seriously, Nigel can probably crush walnuts between his forearm and biceps, considering the loads of scrap he continually pulls out of those waterways. Keep up the good work, Nigel!

Whoever the guy is on the mobility scooter is going to wreck it taking it out in wet weather. The tiller controls are weatherproof but the wheels spray the electrics and motor underneath doing serious damage. I love the trailer though.

i,m sorry i don,t know how to use chat and all that stuff on youtube i was bought up with just using my brains imoved to melbourne aust from w.a when i left it was 48 deg cel and like your show because of the fun you have and what you find and where you go i was born in w.a in 1948 and have worked hard all my life but i don,t think you want my life history but i did work in the railways for a while so i see a lot of things we used on the steam trains but not a lot more so it inerests me what you call junk i probably worked with . terry keep up the good work👍good going

I take that back maybe somebody robbed a mail truck or carrier and ditched the bags using the brake drums they may have numbers on them for identification purposes

Hi Nigel (and Dan). I've been watching you guys for a while now, and you've inspired me to give it ago. I've got the equipment, but I haven't had a chance to actually go yet. Anyway, I've got a couple of questions, if you don't mind - firstly, when you pull in a safe or similar, why do you sift through the contents instead of just tipping it out on the ground? It's only canal mud. As long as you remove all the solids first, just wash it back into the canal. Secondly, how do you clean your magnets? More powerful magnets? Would that even work?

We try to keep the paths clean and so no one slips on the slimey mud also we don't clean our magnets, little shards of metal actually magnetise the magnet more. Dont use WD40 as a lot of people recommend as that actually pollutes the water as its petroleum
