@@finestgrowth I forgot to say make sure the hair section is flat. That way the hair is flat in the middle section, fold one open side in on top of the hair, fold other open side over folded paper section, slide to end and roll.

FYI, the papers on the end are to make sure that you don’t have any little fish hooks or any hair that goes rye on the end and causes it to actually perm that way and will destroy the bottom of your hair

I wear my hair natural 4c, in order to get those beautiful curls you would need to at least have a simple relaxed hair for this style to come out correct...otherwise if you don't it will come out like a afro ....

I have natural 4C coily hair and I am able to get good results using Hask Argan Repairing Hair oil serum under a nice medium to firm hold mousse. It makes it come out like a roller set not an afro. The Hask serum keeps my hair from frizzing and the papers are a must have. Lately I have been using Pattern Beauty Curl Mousse. I wonder if this could help your roller set turn out how you want it too 🤔

Not if its done properly. If you have dense volume, you can try a slightly larger size perm rod. The smaller the rod, the tighter the curl. The papers are used to smooth the hair; you can benefit a lot from simultaneously using setting lotion which will also help hold that curl for a week or more for some people.
