I’ve been a hardcore cod player since mw1 and I strongly support the game being built like this. The game hasn’t been selling as much as it’s supposed to sell for quite a while. People have been saying that it’s because of the loot boxes and micro transactions, however their wallets contradict that big time so the sales must be down for a different reason. Me and very few friends played the game while the rest of our friends hated it, they didn’t even know much about the loot boxes or micro transactions, they hated it because every time they would try it out they would get repetitively killed by a veteran player and they would end up getting harassed over their 0.01 kd ratio. There were also those times in which they were rejected by our group to play competitively because based on their stats we would’ve gotten our asses kicked with them on our team. So to me it seems logical that the sales may be down because a huge amount of people ended up having the same experience my friends had. The game was full of hardcore players and little to no room for a new player to be introduced to it and no motivation to improve their skills since it’s repetitive every match and re-sold every year. If I were them I would feel like I wasted $60 and would’ve picked up battlefield instead, which is probably what they ended up doing. Now instead of personal experiences with cod let’s use some basic economics. In order to sell supply (cod games) you need a big enough demand. The demand for the game was very low because of the fact that it was only coming from the hardcore players and no one else. This is terrible to rely on because of the fact that this group will eventually die off because of the majority eventually moving on from cod (kids grew up and most cod KZbinrs turned into Fortnite KZbinrs) so you’re eventually gonna end up with 0 demand. Meanwhile battlefield 3, battlefield 4, and battlefield one not only did they have their hardcore players but also people looking forward to buy it who have never even played it in the first place. In other words, not only were they staying loyal to their original clientele, they were expanding it with every new release. Something that cod could not do. The only way to make the money needed to support the game out of this may just be finding a way to manipulate the current clientele into paying for more. Thus you get loot boxes (Advanced Warfare) which created terrible press against the devs making them unlikable among the gaming community. Even though they made good money they realized that they were hurting their marketing (Infinite Warfare) by doing this. In order to improve their marketing they decided to finally listen to their main fan base and went back to the old cod days (ww2). The sales were good but it didn’t look like it was going to last long which it didn’t, so then they go down a different/unique direction, they turn to the noobs who have since moved on to Fortnite. Thus you get this game. A perfect game for the bottom fragging noobs with the business of Fortine that hits the mentality of freemium gaming (warzone being free but with expensive cosmetics) Me and my hardcore friends didn’t feel any different spending $60-$100 on this game since we’ve done it multiple times before, did it with mw2 and ghosts during their release so we’ve been happy and disappointed before so we didn’t care. But my noobie friends who used to hate this game, not only did they buy the game at release, not only did they also buy all dlc’s, not only did they also buy the battle pass, but this game is ALL they play now! 24/7 on Xbox, PS4, and PC they’re either on warzone or tdm. And according to the sales numbers, they’re not the only noobs who did this. In the end, the right answer to save this game turned out to be ditching the loyal fan base to create a new one. As harsh as it sounds, the hardcore players including myself were the ones holding this game back from surviving in the industry so the developers made the right call here. Keep in mind that the alternative would’ve been turning this into the biggest pay-to-win mess of all time. I personally prefer dealing with noobie campers everywhere than having to pay $9.99 to unlock the AX-50 most likely on top of a monthly subscription to use sniper rifles. And who knows, maybe this new generation of cod players will be nicer and more likable than the one most of started out with (n-word yelling 9 year olds)

I am not sure how many competitive games you guys have played or if you play on console but "slow paced" means nothing when it comes to agro in these types of games. You are not forced to play any particular way. When the meta is this clear one week into the game.... something needs to be changed. People sitting around with claymores and the over under with m4 just ruins the experience for anyone. I have stopped playing. This could be the best CoD, but they've completely ruined the multiplayer experience.

All you can do in this game is camp. You move you die from some sniper way way way out, so this map has a few glitch spots, I keep seeing people glitch into rocks they can see and shot through and kill people this way. No skill.

hit detection is bad. Had the same issues on Beta and nothing has changed. takes me 7-8 bullets to kill someone vs them hitting me and killing me in 1-2 shots. Note this issue isn’t even with ping. My ping hovers around 10-40.
