I'm glad to see that it's not just my detector that is junk. Thank you

You do not know how to used your metal detector

Dont have the coil touching the grass and you won’t get them false beeps,
@ruralkracken30002 жыл бұрын
My ommo has picked up a mercury dime, wheat penny and other goodies but the beeps are very inconsistent and mostly based on size

I have an Omo metal detector and it seems like if you tapped a weed or something sticking up a little little bit higher than the grass that’ll make it beep or if you go too far in your swing and it tips up at the end that I’ll make it be bumping into anything will make it beep so be very careful that’s all I found

Why didn't you use the Ommo detector on what you found with the equinox that was shallow, to see if the Ommo could detect it?
@RelicManFloyd3 жыл бұрын
I had thought of doing something like that too at some point but I had limited time. I may actually go out for a bit today, and am thinking of taking some markers with me to mark signal locations and see if the OMMO can pick them up or not. I literally re-traced my same steps though, and there was stuff everywhere. I didn't even bother to retrace the whole path I took, only about maybe 25 or 30% of it there was so much. The OMMO just plain missed it.

Mines not beeping can you help

I own the ommo and as it is said in the review the machine is frustrating to use, also mine will randomly turn it self off while i am using it.
@rascalwind3 жыл бұрын
Very slow recovery. So you have to wait for the signal processing to catch up.

I started detecting with the bounty hunter tracker IV and found over $500 in change and a few nice rings in about 5 months before buying my equinox..that ommo machine is a piece of junk in my opinion

I came to the same conclusion. Sad too. The air test went pretty well I thought. If the real world use would have been as good I really thing it would be a pretty darn good detector for the price.

Also having your cell phone on, you will affect it a lot and having a shovel near it at all will fuck it all up to

If you are using a metal detector you must practice and you must know what you are doing. Different types of signals, but you must check all the signals. No, do not use them in high grass.
@MIFixItDad4 ай бұрын
Yes, I'm well aware of this. I have been detecting for well over a decade and am an expert with several detectors. Yes, I have used detectors in grass, no it's not always easy. If you stay to the easy stuff, you miss a lot. You stay to the easy stuff though. I'll find all the things you missed.

Just my observation, but you are swinging way to fast!? Try this same test on a Garrett and GP pointer.. if you move the GP to fast, it will not register but the Garrett circuitry will find it no matter how fast you swing😅 I just got a free unit (MD-7011) from OMMO and will be testing against my Xterra Pro and Equinox 900 in a video soon You also need to invest in a mini spray water bottle... I keep one in my finds bag😅

I got this about a month ago. Never metal detached before. Was pretty sure I was doing everything right but kept digging holes and then whatever was there is suddenly gone. I experienced everything you mentioned in this video. Returned and going to get another. Anyone have any suggestions ? Was thinking Garret 250 but I don't really know what's what.
@RelicManFloyd2 жыл бұрын
In that price range, the Ace 250 would be a great detector. The Fisher F22 is also a good choice. I have one of those and know it's a good detector. The Garrett is a good choice because if you move up to a AT Pro or AT Max later, then it's very familiar. Both would be great first choices though.

@@RelicManFloyd I ended up getting the Vanquish 440. I was able to return the OMMO and they sent me a new one.

Some of this inexpensive machines are pretty good for what they are. Shame this machine doesn’t appear to be reliable 👋

Agreed, I've seen some that are pretty darn good. Like I've said, I had high hopes for this one. I was super looking forward to giving it away to a kid that wanted to get into metal detecting too, but I can't do that and feel good about it the way this thing performs in the real world.

Never push the head of a metal detector into the ground. You will distroy the head. I have been using the metal detector for over 20 years alot of fun
@MIFixItDad4 ай бұрын
That head is called a coil. If you have been detecting that long, you should probably know that by now.
