As an episode that delved in horror, can we take a moment to appreciate Jubilee immediately sniping the horror creature coming out of the screen instead of gawking? This goes for others too, like Bishop coming to very quickly that what he saw isn’t real, and Beast so grounded in reality that he can just throw a quip at the illusion.

Considering the underpinning theme of the X-Verse is one of inclusivity, that kind of hatefulness is particularly tragic. I'm sure many, like myself, fell in love with these characters in part because of what the mutant theme respresents and how it resonated with our experiences. Forget the haters and any negativity, life is too short to be dragged down by nonsense.

So what was it in the comics? I watched the cartoon as a kid, so to me, he was a guy who could shape shift before there was such a thing as pronouns. Is what's being shown on the show right now accurate to the comics? Did he have a gay thing for Wolverine? What matters here is accuracy.

The even called back to when she "knew" who Cable was back in the original series when she says "Nathan, of course." when she was naming the baby. This show is so good. I also love that they did a little call back to how Madelyne Pryor and Magik are basically generals of different corners of Hell and how they usually have back and forths, again this show is so good! My biggest problem with the episode is that some things were too rushed. They drop "call me Madelyn Pryor" without any explanation; it just comes out of nowhere. And sending Nathan to the future to solve the techno-organic virus shouldn't have been such a quick solution, especially if you remember the original series: Wolverine was intentionally infected by the same virus and developed the antibodies that cured everyone. There's no way they wouldn't remember this. Pretty massive oversight, imo. I think they should have stretched out Nathan's infection into the B plot of the next episode, with Wolverine out of commission, then found that his antibodies didn't work on Nathan for some reason, and finally Bishop suggests the future.
