Agreed. One player in my pod has a Kess deck whose sole purpose is to cast, copy, and recast Cruel Ultimatums as many times in a turn and game as possible. His biggest issue is normally decking himself lmao but when you see 8 Cruel Ultimatums on the stack for the third time in a game you can't even be mad when you lose, at that point you're just impressed 😂

Golos is the best 5 color commander for any strat. He cuts his commander tax each time he etb and if he sticks around he takes over the game.

Everytime someone kills my golos, I thank him so much! When the coffers get online with urborg, the commander tax go away in a breeze :D it's useless to remove him, waste of pin point removal...

Found this game due to comments about it being emblematic of Golos being a ‘problem’ commander. I see what they are saying in justifying the ban, but I still think I disagree with it. There was spot-on threat assessment for removing Golos multiple times; however there were a couple of times his life total could have been reduced the prior turns to the point of being at 0 instead of 13. The most critical being attacking a player with 67 life but not much presence and getting them down to manageable totals INSTEAD of taking out the Golos player who is obviously pooping out dragons.

I don't think so, looks like he had 13 lands, so the most Polly K could do is 6 damage to each creature, which is not enough.

@@Threadoflength so with 2 defending creatures with a total toughness of 17: Polukranos was a 10/10 because of active beast master ascension. Play rhonas to double it's power to 20. Any amount into the X wins him the game.

Strange plays this game...like people weren't talking to each other or not paying attention. Weird that Omnath allowed the ascension to get to 7 counters and the creatures then to live after attacking him. Also strange to unmaking a kozelek AFTER the annihilator trigger.

I think Dom could've won this... he could've just cast Rhonas and then poured the rest of his mana into Polukranos to make it monstrous. He had enough mana to make Polukranos a 23/23 factoring Beastmaster Ascension, Rhonas's power doubling trigger and three +1/+1 counters, enough for the hydra to eat both of Seb's untapped dragons and swing with it and the 12/12 Farhaven Elf for the win.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned; but Dom wouldn't have been able to get Finale back off the GWoM since its technically still on the stack when the ETB goes off. It comes down to the way layering and the stack work

That was funny. Dom stupidly killed both of them because Max hit him. It was Max's only choice,and it gained him a lot of life, while Dom could've gotten a good creature to defend himself with and they both would've survived. Bad play, is what I'm trying to say.

Greenwarden wouldn't be able to return the finale. It's the same as casting genesis wave and eternal witness entering she can't bring back the genesis wave because it hasn't fully resolved.

That's incorrect. A quick Google search confirmed that you can actually return the Genesis Wave with Eternal Witness, as the ability goes onto the stack once the spell has resolved. (www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/1s1kd0/quick_rules_question_on_genesis_wave_eternal/) The same goes for Greenwarden and the finale.
