This makes me wish Rooster teeth did more traditional 2D animation. Sure it would be expensive, but it would make each Death Battle all the more cooler to watch!

It's not exactly traditional. It's 2D, yes, but it's not frame by frame animation. It is made with Moho or some similar program. What is do is to add bones to the drawn character. You can also make the character spin 360, blink, etc. You only need to draw the accion it once.

The biggest two questions I had about fight were Q1: how did Homelander know Omni-Man’s real name? Q2: how did Homelander didn’t die from the first punch?

1. He probably did some digging around and found his real name and his address, seeing as he also knew Debbie’s name and the existence of Mark; meaning that he very well planned the whole thing and knew to kill off Debbie to hurt Nolan emotionally. It isn’t that far-off considering Homelander is indeed one evil and cunning son of a bitch alongside the connections he has with Vought 2. Nolan probably was toying around with Homelander and/or the animators just nerfed Nolan to make the fight an actual fight (though the final product wasn’t much of a fight either given Nolan instantly killed Homelander the moment he gave a shit)
