My first knowing that Homelander was going to lose this fight was from the little factoid of 'The first time Homelander fought someone his own size, he DIED.' Against Superman he'd get folded like a Lawnchair by the Kryptonian, so against Omni-Man who is Superman if he were also a SAYIAN...yeah we going to see a son of a bitch die that day. It was also one of those rare moments where EVERYONE was on the same page and knew that the fight was gonna go very fucking poorly for Homelander. Even with S3 of The Boys showing a different thing or two, Homelander was fighting an old man who was only roughly his level, a Billy Butcher who only JUST got superpowers and he had back-up.

Long story short: Invincible is a superhero story uncensored. The Boys is a social commentary on superheros, idols, capitalism, life, politics, religion, and just about everything and anything you can think of in life. Oh, and is pretty much a gore-filled porno. Watch The Boys. It's amazing.

Eh, I'd say Invincible is better. The whole "evil Superman/corrupt superheroes" shtick has gotten old, and Invincible tackles the realistic consequences of superheroes way better without the needless cynicism and pessimism that Garth Ennis likes to parade around. The Boys was originally written by a man with a hate-boner for superheroes, while Invincible was written by a man who loved to explore its possibilities openly. I say all this having watched both, btw, as well as familiarity with the original comics.

@@alexferrana3979 Yeah, from my understanding, The Boys was not just hate filled towards superheros, it was also just straight up a bad comic. I've never read them in full detail, though. Don't get me wrong. I love Invincible. It's a fantastic series and I'm extremely excited for more of it. I just feel The Boys (or the show at least) touches on things beyond just superheroes, while still being a great superhero show. It also gives us, in my opinion, the perfect exaggeration of the DC and Marvel characters and formulas we all know and love. I still totally get why people prefer the former. I'm just the opposite.

People love giving the homelander hate so I’m gonna explain why this deathbattle is weird. According to them a star can hurt Omniman. Homelander can survive a furnace, and even the heat of a hydrogen bomb. His heat vision can burn beings like himself. This means his heat vision is hotter than the sun. Way hotter. This means by their logic, Homelanders heat vision should have immediately sliced through Omni man or at least severely harmed him
