Yeah, the "Supernova" tries to hit the Mario Brothers, then both Mario and Luigi would use both their hammers also deflect the giant nibiru against Sephiroth. And even if Sephiroth did transforms, and if one of the bros are sleeping, then Dream Luigi would appear and Mario will still aid Luigi and his side no matter what.

And to answer your other question about them being poisoning and turning them into frogs. The Mario Brothers will carry any useful items to aid them against Sephiroth. Like many other items, especially the Starman power-up, since they'll become invincible for a couple of seconds or minutes. Plus, they have a great synchronization, too, just like from both the "M&L RPG" series and the "Super Mario Bros Movie."

Literally you only have to look at the final bosses of each game alone to see how op Mario and Luigi are, arguably the weakest might be Cackletta who was able to almost kill them in one go, but fails literally because Mario and Luigi can dodge. Next maybe shiny robo bowser, which is basically just an armored giant bowser, but Mario and Luigi manage to win with paper Mario instead of giant Luigi. Next Elder Princess Shri on and her army, which I add because you literally fight a giant alien monster and her army of flying saucers that lunge at you, which, you can deflect. Next probably the dark star, a powerful star combined with fawful and a clone of bowser that single handedly kidnaps everyone in the mushroom kingdom in one breath. And lastly Dreamy Bowser, a literal god version of bowser able to summon armies that Mario and Luigi would theoretically only be able to beat in the dream world, and yet still manage to win

Context: Mario and Luigi from the MnL series are suoer powerful, especially if you dare take the countless hours to level them up to 99, just a single jump on the enemy and theyre gone, and the Bros Attacks, some are just infinites like the Knockback bros, if timed well. Hell they could litteraly go into Sephiroth's dreams and beat him from within despite anything, they got items to heal, attack items, heck they got everything to probably one-up even goku, Naruto and maybe who knows who else

Mario & Luigi only win if you do 2 things: 1) Acknowledge the obvious Toon Force/Gag stuff the Bros have in various games that are inconsistent to their other feats (Mario can lift a castle in SMW, but he can't break black brick blocks in 64DS?). 2) Take gameplay mechanics into account like Danger Mario BS or the Special Moves and counter system of M&L. And in the case of gameplay mechanics, you're making assumptions about their stats and assuming they can perfectly counter any attack thrown at them when the point of the mechanic is NOT knowing the timinga for attacks and needing to learn them. Mind you, you're ALSO only acknowledging THEIR mechanics and not the ones from Sephiroth's game. You basically need to high ball the fuck out of the Bros and cheat to give them the W against Sephiroth.
