That seems to me like it'll put a lot of extra stresses on the tires. For instance, if the tire is molded as a tire instead of an open-ended tube, the outer 'ring' of the structure will be placed under more compression than normal when rotating sideways, and the inner ring will be under extra tension at the same point, due to the differences in the amount of material at both points. If it is formed as an open-ended tube, it's always going to be under those odd stresses, though to a lesser extent. It clearly works, but something tells me those tires don't have the longest lifespan.

I think the rubber will wear fast due to compression and stretching when the innermost material of the tyre becomes the out most material. I mean, a car is not something lightweight necessarily. And tyres should last some mileage. Also, the grip of these tyres is reduces a lot due to way less surface areay, compared to tyres with a flat surface. Not sure what problem is being solved here. It's cool to watch it work, however as you folks may recall 4 wheel steering came out as a feature of certain cars and trucks in the last 10 to 15 years and it claimed to make the car or truck possess better handling and tighter turning radius but it never caught on due to the fact that in everyday driving the feature provided little to no benefit , this is kind of the same thing it's a feature you would seldom use but magnifies tire problems by 10 fold . What if you get a flat , now what do you do ? It's just a gadget that you will never see on a street car

For a show car or floor model this would be great.

The stress applied on the rubber when made to rotate sideways is high, and so is the stress put on it by the rollers. You have single stress points for accelerating, braking and gliding. Very cool idea, but the amount of engineering to make it viable for more than 100 km in safety on any car is not indifferent.
