Cinderace running sparkling crystal + crispin + magma basin is an absolute blast! Drawing out the opponent’s manaphy to flare blitz it and then going nuts with sniping all the supporters and basic attackers, and then making use of its free retreat cost to make back to back flare blitz… the deck is super flexible and having the ability to switch to a different type of strategy on the fly feels really nice.

I feel like Briar is super good in Dragapult if you prize map effectively. You can use the Duskull line to set up the board to take 3-4 prizes in a single turn pretty easily.

Hm on PTCGO Live I've been trying a couple decks - one with Iron Leaves/Iron Crown/Ogerpon and Area Zero. The extra bench space allows for more Iron Crowns and it's really fun and aggressive against other two prize decks. And the Peak Acceleration Miraidon is still a good one prize attacker. And then I've also tried a colorless Lugia deck with Bouffalants and Bravery Charms to set up super tanky Thumping Snore Snorlaxes and Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex. I don't think I've figured out anything that anybody else hasn't, but I wonder if these have potential. Also tried Torterra ex which still sucks and Glimmora ex which has a fun time against Area Zero decks I guess lol

I really thought Crispin would be a better performing card that validated and supported more types of decks. Can anyone explain why it isn’t seeing results to me?

It only accelerates energy. It doesn't actually contribute to your board, you still need to have the attackers in play to use it

Am I missing something with Briar? It says you can only use it when your opponent has 2 prizes. So how can you use it in Charizard to take 3 if they only have 2?

This tripped me up too. It's when your opponent has two of their own left to take, not when you have two left to take

You and your opponent has 3 prize cards left, your opponent has a one prize card pokemon active while you don't have cards to switch your opponent's active pokemon. So you knockout on benched pokemon with dusknoir now your opponent has 2 prize cards left, use briar and knockout the one prize card pokemon in front of you with zard and you win

Been waiting for this video! Definitely gonna be using some of these lists for some cups and challenges at the end of the month. What are your thoughts on Grand Tree in Zard? With the deck getting clunkier and more teched out, it seems really solid to have essentially a 1-card out to a Pidgeot or Dusclops/Dusknoir. Finding it could be a problem but using Seal Stone for it seems fairly worthwhile as you’re likely using Star Alchemy to try and set up your stage 2’s anyways. You do lose the power of Stamp, but it might not matter if you’re brute forcing the prize trade anyway with Briar. I haven’t really had the time to try it (live is buggy asf right now lol) but I’d love to hear your opinion on it!

I always like to think about Great Tree as a card that gives your opponent a second Ace Spec 😅

@@PredatorTheStealth so theoretically yeah, but the amount of decks that can actually USE Grand Tree are actually pretty low. The big basic decks can’t and i don’t believe VStars can because of the wording on Grand Tree. Zard or Pult could theoretically use it, but you don’t proc Zard’s ability if you use Tree, and most Pidgeot decks don’t play Pidgeotto. Pult could get value by spawning a Dragapult out of nowhere, but you could just avoid playing it down in that matchup, or save it to close the game out with a surprise Dusknoir play. So yeah it CAN give your opponent value, but realistically that’s the drawback of every stadium. There’s also plays where you can combo Tree with Pidgeot’s attack to bump it before going into your opponent’s turn.
