why is this surprising to you? every collectible hobby is full of scammers selling bullshit to make a buck. its the duty of every individual collector to be diligent and only purchase from verified and trusted sellers. scammers like this couldn't exist if people wouldn't open their wallets before doing research. if you dont get to see the card before buying; its not worth it. this is why i avoid all packs and boxes and only buy singles
@nevercold8083 жыл бұрын
This kind of info is greatly appreciated. Scammers already know all the tactics to rip people off. Newer collectors need to educate themselves with this kind of info to protect themselves. Another step beyond what you showed here is that most Japanese boxes usually only have one "special rare" card, whether it be an alt art or rainbow. The scammers weigh the packs, rip the heavies until they pull that one card then they may pepper in one of the leftover heavies per X amount of packs they're selling so they don't blatantly look like they're ripping you off. PSA: If you're going to buy loose packs, make sure it's from a reputable source like a trusted game shop or subscription box. Always safer to save up those extra dollars and just buy a sealed box. Thanks Pat! You always deliver epic content! Both entertaining and educational.

@oneseven73073 жыл бұрын
I think that only works at japanese sets, what scammers do at ours sets is open a booster box (wich usually has a certain number of hits) and when they take the hits just sell the other packs, so if u buy single packs u still can have a hit but is way difficult because of that.
@notryan24963 жыл бұрын
You can still weigh them I'm pretty sure that the packs that contain full arts are still heavier, could be wrong but.... The way they make the textured cards makes them heavier still, so unless the code cards in those are even lighter they probably weigh a fraction more
@chiefbig64593 жыл бұрын
Can’t weigh. I did a test with my brother. The code cards are weighted to throw it off. One I opened a holo on a “heavy” pack that was 1.5 grams heavier than a rainbow rare. What actually happens is these people buy a couple booster boxes. They grab a random pack and open until they hit the rainbow or full art trainer. Then sell the other 15-20 maybe even 30 packs depending on how “lucky” they are (I say lucky because F*** people selling out their booster boxes knowing the only valuable pull is gone)
@donoho933 жыл бұрын
@@chiefbig6459 u have to determine the variables.they most definately are weighable.heavy is only guaranteed hit in 3 card packs.10 card packs is more tricky. you have to figure it out.

I saw some info about this a while ago with Magic cards. Pat while modern era English cards are not able to be weighed efficiently, the recent reprint of DAA and VIV for various collection boxes have the code cards rushed and not properly filtered. That means that you can get a UR in green code packs and a regular rare in white code packs. This is not a for sure way of weighing them completely but, allows for about 1/3 URs to weighed out because the heavier green code is in some of the UR packs and the lighter white codes being in some regular rare packs.
@deeppocketmonster3 жыл бұрын

When you can weigh the packs and know heavy packs is 100% hits. Why worry about the pattern? The 15 light packs will always be sold and have 0% hits. The video is quite clear if you watch to the end. The pattern no longer matters with a 5 card pack.

Hey man, idk if you’d even wanna make a video testing it since it would just make more people aware of it. But I think the way that people may be able to find hits is using a small handheld metal detector. You can scan each of the packs and the ones that show up reading more metal will be the better cards. The ones with the absolute most metal would be like that gold and rainbow cards but I think all of the better cards would have more metal than non hits

I'm taking a guess in that the way scammers weigh packs is That the "good cards, aka the Holos, Vmax" ect weight slightly more than the regular cards. If that is the case, is it not possible to add something to the regular cards that would either make them weigh the same as a holo, or add in a throw off card that weighs more than the holo that can be in every pack that would throw off the scale
@andrew79552 жыл бұрын

i am no professional, but there is a pattern of distrubution. Every box had one SR and two VMAX cards, as well as 4-5 V cards. As someone who opens for myself and breaks Japanese Booster boxes all of the time. (100+ Shiny star V) (dozens of each of the last couple of sets like Eevee heroes) There is definitely no mapping of boxes I get Secret Rares in all sorts of places within the box and the hit range is always very different, (in placement). Japanese packs are very very weighable as you confirmed SR and Vmax are easily heavier cards and can easily be determined so only buy loose packs from trusted sellers. Great Video as always Pat :D

Great video, Pat. It's really got me thinking about the Final Fantasy TCG packs I open. There's a foil in every pack so individual packs are probably similar weights, but as there are 1 or 2 full art packs in a 36 pack booster box, can those specific packs be identified? It usually uses a plain foil rather than having a holo pattern, so does that have a weight bearing? You've got me thinking about it... but i'm guessing they'll all be too similar to tell.
@SpankoDEX Жыл бұрын
The mapping happens in cases! So if 1 box in a case has hit every 3rd pack lets say on one side, every box in the same case will have that pattern Random boxes from different cases won't have the same hits pattern! Weighing will work on Japanese packs but seems not to work on the North America side!

Vmax cards tend to be sorted pretty close to one another and also the stack that the Vmax containing packs also contained a full art card pack as well in 2/3 boxes you opened. Also the Holos seem to sort together as well, so if you have a lot of holos in the stack, you likely won't get a Vmax or a full art card pack in that stack.
