Amazing as always! Beautiful melody, overall sound and solo. Has a bit of Redshift atmosphere + recognizable style crafted on latter albums. For me personally, OG is the most underrated MDM band in the world. They are on the same level as all current MDM flagships, and absolutely brilliant live... hopefully they will get more recognition very soon!
@OakhheartIX5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I saw them live with Dark Tranquility and Amon Amarth. I had never really listened to them before but it was a blast. Too bad some people just didn't care about them and only wanted to see DT and Amon Amarth that night.
@flipemoff18365 жыл бұрын
You can say that again! If that bunch came to my town, OG would be the first I am there for, then DT and whatever comes next. Great band! IMO, they need more promotion and awareness. People just don't know about them. I had been listening to MDM for 14 years before I found out about them! Look at their cousin Insomnium hyping their new album like there is no tomorrow (nothing at all wrong with that 😉). These guys act like they don't care at all about recognition and money, just making great music. If that really is the case, I respect them even more 😉 But they do deserve a bigger audience!

Last album was awesome, so looking forward to the next one. This just reminds me of that samurai-influenced single that I didn’t really care for either.

Opinions are like assholes. Every band has their sound. And OGs is full of major chords. Very accessible to new mdm fans.
@christianduris18475 жыл бұрын
Kinda agree. OG is a uniqe band indeed. This song is good, I like it, don't get me wrong. But there were the times when new OG left my jaw dropped for weeks. Redshift and earier albums were solid, classic MDM stuff. While New World Shadows was still pretty much riff based, they started to explore more of their atmospheric side. Beyond was a total drift into moody and atmospheric soundscapes, lots of keys, lead melodies drenched in reverb, very moody and ambient. That album might be my absolute favourite by OG. It literally painted pictures in my mind...incredible work. Each album had something special and different. Then anything after Beyond was kinda OK I guess. Still good, but most of it sounds pretty much the same to me without any noteworthy difference. I have some favourite songs there though.
