OMODA and JAECOO are 2 brands you've most likely NEVER heard of! China's biggest automotive exporter Chery has brought the 2 spin-off brands to the UK, aiming to take on the competitive SUV market, focussing on value for money, technology and safety.
Recently Chinese manufacturers have been exceeding in EV sales across the world, so what about petrol and hybrid vehicles? MG is an example of a Chinese success story in the UK, however the MG marque is a heritage British brand, undoubtedly helping them to succeed. Even in these economically difficult times, new car sales are soaring and affordable options are gaining much more traction, this could be very good for Chery...

Excellent review as always Sam 👏🏻 and shout out to Pye motors for letting you have a sneak peek 👀😀 They both look interesting vehicles but I suspect how well they sell in the UK will purely come down to price. MG seem to have got their prices about right, but to me the likes of Ora and BYD have priced their offerings way too high. The cheapest BYD Seal for example being 5k more expensive than a Tesla Model 3. I’m not specifically a Tesla fan but the Model 3 offers access to the supercharging network and (crazy indicators aside!) a more premium looking interior. If the Seal were cheaper it might do ok, but over 5k more for a model 3 clone with worse predicted residuals is hardly going to take the market by storm. Omoda, Jaecoo and even patent company Cherry are basically totally unknown to anyone in the UK but us car nuts 😁 So to sell they will need to offer something fantastic and cutting edge or be cheaper. Plus these brands also face the whole political debate about buying cars from Chinese manufacturers - with the unfair market advantage cheap loans and funding from the CCP gives them - not to mention the CCPs shady past on human rights…. That’ll knock some buyers off no matter how cheap they are. Personally I can only see these new Chinese cars gaining any traction in Europe if they are much cheaper than the established competition. Actually it would be really interesting to know how the sales of MG, BYD and ORA etc are progressing - perhaps a good subject for the next podcast 😊

Black roof liner is a must especially as a family car. The cream liner doesn’t compliment a black cabin. My 2 cents

@AbdullahCekic front PDC Wipers go off when ever FCW goes off when ever super dangerous with no other traffic around humming noise in the gear box back PDC screen replaced still didn't work properly dealership in CT and head office not interested in my problem cost me big time to get out of the deal heap of crap beware

So basically a software update would have fixed those minor problems. Sounds like you were looking for an excuse to back out of your purchase.
