I am very happy to know that our connections still exist even though we are separated. I am in Brazil and here we have most of this songs in our Orixas ceremonies. E barabo e mojuba... At least three of these songs are played here too. Axe Alaxe.

@icacaonline rightly said. Any religion that says you should walk away from your culture is no religion, it's nothing but a tool to conquer, and the reality is so many of our people have been and still conquered. Never get so comfortable in another man's house, that you forget to build your own. AFRICANS RECLAIM YOUR IDENTITY. Stay bless

Daryl Richardson yeah that right I say it time and time again that the bible is a demonic book and people think it's good these people come with there cross and kill out most of the people in this continent in the name of Jesus then they will tell you that shango is devilish thinks but the truth is I never see shango men going killing people like theses Christians now the Muslim take over but they all come from the same book

Sounds really similar to kumina in jamaica, except in jamaica we use kikongo.I've heard of people in clarendon that speak yoruba and maroons speak a form of asanti twi.also the tables look very similar to thanksgiving tables in jamaica. Keep our african culture alive yes sah!

I Love this music! I'm from Martinique and we also have Bèlè dance but we forgot most ritual for orishas. As we still are a French departement, we lost a part of our identity. I'm really looking for that everywhere in the caribean islands. Thanks for videos! I hope one day i'll go back to Trinidad to see that! Ps: Do you use ritual of orishas for the stick fight?

@omoorisha07 In trinidad there are no lyrics, your grandparents sang these songs and they sang them to you when you were a child and you grew with the translations. The orishas are a people just like the Jews.

sadly christianity wiped out orisha out of Jamaica, but the history is still there.
Peace and blessings to you. Is this song appropriate as a wedding song for a bride to enter upon? We want to invite our ancestors in, but don't want to offend the Orisha if it should simply be reverenced and not "used". Thank you!
