If one takes on the True Route, Sunny finally starts to understand that he can’t just live in fear for long; he can’t just depend on Omori despite it being much better, safer, and easier... Somewhat irrelevant topic,in the Hikikomori Route, Omori has a chance to LITERALLY kill Sunny’s phobias and do it WITH his friends, but in Sunny route... Sunny was not able to “kill” his feats, he only conquered it AND what SUCCS more: he can only do it alone. So yeah. Omori and Sunny are different. I mean... it’s understandable why Sunny would succumb to Omori: he’s far stronger... and well... dreams. Who wouldn’t want to stay in their dreams? It just sucks that it came to a point that Omori turned into a sentient being instead of him being... just a mask of Sunny. It’s actually terrifying if one thinks about it.

Aubrey in the real world had a few moments hinted at where she had a crush on Sunny. In fact on the day where she follows you around town, if you go to the park on the swings it's pretty heavily hinted that she still likes him. I think Omori just seems to well.. fantasize about it a bit much, probably because Sunny likes her too. Omori isn't the healthiest individual, so it makes sense his fantasy has Aubrey fighting herself for his affection.

Everyone saying Aubrey didn't have a crush on Sunny but they forget that: Aubrey never targets Sunny in the real world fights unless he's the only one left. Aubrey doesn't hit him when she is tagged in the real world unlike her Kel and Hero tags. During the cemetery picnic she stares at him quite a bit. Sunny has insanely good memory so a lot of things characters do/say are one for one reenactments of things they have already done. Though some things are obviously exaggerated in the dream world I do think the more mild displays of affection are true. Though whether or not she still likes him that way in the present I don't know :(

Regardless of their mutual affection, it's going to take a while before they can overcome the awkwardness that comes with the revelation of the truth. Though, not sure if a sequel will ever be made, it's not like this is Undertale where it's a solo project that hit jackpot. In my opinion Kel and the Artist are almost certainly going to hook up. They share great chemistry with each other.
