This displays after the credits in the secret good ending. (It is labeled secret-ending in the files) I'm not sure how you achieve this ending, but it could possibly be due to collecting all correct keys and choosing to save Basil at every opportunity you have.

So I’m assuming since she went through almost the same thing she would understand and forgive him.

They aren’t exactly the same person, however, since Omori does things opposite of Sunny. Sunny wants to found out something he repressed a long time ago but Omori was willing to even kill Basil in the dream world to prevent anyone from finding the truth. Basically a being Sunny created in his mind to repress anything to do with his fears or Mari’s death.

A common theme I read is that the “somethings” disappear. The way I depict the secret ending is that the somethings don’t truly disappear, but dissolve in to the background of their life, especially with Basil. The something goes back in instead of dispersing out. Trauma at this scale will always haunt them, but they accepted it and are no longer terrified to face the somethings. The memories are no longer terrifying but are still depressing. Acceptance and acknowledgment do not alter the memories but makes them slightly more acceptable.

For me, After sunny told his friends about the incident. Aubrey became hostile but hero stopped her, And thus the two of them left basil's hospital room. ​@@Killthief99 i call bullshit. you would have to get all 9 main story achievements (these are tied to moments or bosses in the game required for progression) and specifically to get this ending in the order here: -Green Thumb (obtained after watering basil's plants at least once. the secret ending in the video requires you to do this multiple times) -At least one of the three High-Five KEL related achievements (The prompt comes up three times on the true route, though its possible to only get one if you don't high-five him all three times) -One More Day... (The Achievement you get when you get the good ending. You also get it in the secret ending as the only difference is the extra scene after the credits.)

But also isn't "They cannot forgive you", as that's what Omori thinks, and we know he's wrong because he lost the final fight.

A lot of people make memes about the others being furious at Sunny and Basil after the truth, but I believe the ending would be a little more upbeat than that. And that's the proof, for me.

Even though there’s no explicit ending, I think we can assume a couple things to piece together a cohesive after-ending plot line: So, after this scene, Basil and Sunny sit their friends down in the hospital room and finally tell the truth of Mari’s death. Varying reactions ensue: First everyone’s in disbelief before everyone starts getting emotional. Hero, Kel, and Aubrey were probably freaked out and were some varying degree of upset with Sunny and Basil because they’re the culprits who took Mari from them. But they were probably also conflicted because they do genuinely care for Basil and Sunny just as much as Mari. I think they all broke down crying in the end and group hugged in the hospital room, promising to get through this as a group as they once promised before. I don’t think things will ever go back to the way it was before Mari’s death but I think the group is prepared to start the long journey to forgive Sunny and Basil for their actions and will be there for each other to help one another cope. *Revised: I didn’t know that the game was hinting at Sunny’s parents being in on Mari’s true manner of death until user Tenshio Natari explained it in a reply so I’ll be revising the part where I said Sunny and Basil might be charged with light sentences in juvie* Since it is heavily theorized that Sunny’s parents helped the boys stage the suicide, hence why Sunny’s dad left, one can only assume that Aubrey, Hero, and Kel will be expected to keep the truth between them as well. So, in a way, Basil and Sunny are kiiiinda putting the same burden on their friends as Sunny put on Basil all these years. But the only difference is that Sunny abandoned Basil after the fact and I genuinely think that from now on, no matter how long Sunny will be away from FARAWAY TOWN, no matter how long Hero is at college, no matter Aubrey’s home situation, Kel’s difficulty understanding what’s happening with his friends, or how often Basil shuts himself off from the others, they’ll all still be there for each other to help each other move forward in the face of the truth and just start facing the trials of growing up together, never forgetting Mari. No more guilt, no more black/white space, no more Omori. But that’s just my humble guess. What do you guys think?

It's all probable based on what we know except for Sunny parents. It's hinted that Sunny parents know the truth, they're probably at the house when the accident happened. But they found out Mari already hanged up to the tree. Panicking because they're in disbelief that both of these children did something like this, they obviously decided to go with Basil's plan. (Her neck will be showing signs of strangulation by rope and it's not possible anymore to say her death only by accidentally falling down the stairs) Sunny mother probably the one who pushed the father to follow it anyway because she want to protect her only child left. Meanwhile the father horrified by what his own son has done, cut down the tree and disowned him. I mean it's impossible for Basil and Sunny to clean up all the evidence by themselves. Sunny parents helped too so I'm not sure if they'll end up telling the truth to the police in the end.

If his father truly thought Mari did hang herself, I don't think he'll disown and hate his only child left. So the dad and mom should've knew the truth. Sunny's mother might be divorced and that's why Sunny locked himself for 4 years. Her mother can't work while taking care of him at the same time, the least she can do is making sure he's alive and well in his room. She also can't bring him to a psychiatrist because he might confess what he did and that's what the mother want to avoid in the first place. It's all just a conjecture based on some sentences in the game so we can't be sure though

I'd like to think that this ending with Sunny and Basil being able to smile, truly smile at each other, after nothing but trauma and depression for four year straight, and their Somethings both disappearing means that Kel, Aubrey, and Hero managed to forgive them or at least leave to door open to friendship with Sunny and Basil after enough time of healing. In the end it was more like a horrible accident, like a car crash than a homicide. Like when Aubrey lost her temper and pushed Basil in the lake knowing that he can't swim. But unlike that incident, it was not something that can easily be saved. Sunny was just trying to push Mari off of him, which in 99% of situations would be harmless, but when he pushed her it happened to be over the stairs which led to his biggest regret in his life. Basil coming up with the idea to stage a suicide was two manic 12 year old's going both having borderline panic attacks trying to keep Sunny safe from blame; of course they were not thinking straight.

This is a perfect way to end the game. Seeing something disappear from behind sunny as he really smiles for the first time in four years, followed by basil smiling back and his version of something going away too is so indescribably heartwarming. I rewatch this from time to time whenever I feel particularly sad, and it definitely helps. I really wish I had got this in game myself. I did everything required except that I didn’t water the very first sunflower that died since I didn’t know you could. Definitely the happiest possible end to the saddest game I’ve ever played. 11/10 Omocat you are amazing.

But the only injuries he has **(or the onky that we see)** are four scratches and a black eye. And, that isn’t enough at all to get hospitalised (at least I think so- I mean, sure, he passed out, but like, if he only had those scratches and black eye he would very likely stayed at his house with someone to watch over him as the ambulance took Sunny in the hospital for, well, the eye 😀). So. My point is, he very likely could have other injuries, and injuries serious enough to be hospitalised (and maybe the fact that all the friends staying in Basil’s room rather than Sunny could perhaps imply that Basil’s injuries would be "worse"/concerning). What do we know about after Sunny passed out ? Honestly : not so much. We only have sounds to indicate what happens : - silence - a "thump" sound, as if someone collapsing to the ground (Basil) - two knocks on the door (tbh idk if it’s knocking or kicking the door, since it’s only two knocks that seem... violent ?) - longer silence - ambulance sounds So we don’t know much (according to the sounds that are unclear) about what happened to Basil before his passing out. But what do we know about Basil during the fight ? He has shears. And what do we know about his intent with them ? ...yeah, the neutral ending shows it. What happens before he gets the chance to do that ? Sunny comes in, trying to get him not to do that. Basil doesn’t want Sunny to interfere, as he really thinks he has no way out and states it multiple times to Sunny. But then he starts to panic and then hallucinating, seeing Something "all around them" and "behind Sunny". He then tries to get rid of Something he sees, at first "reaching inside" and then using his shears as a last resort (if you don’t acknowledge the slashing sounds of the attacks after Sunny becomes stressed out) And how does he use the shears during/at the end of the fight ? To stab Sunny’s eye out. Why does he do that ? He was hallucinating Something inside/in front of Sunny’s eye, and wanted to save Sunny by getting rid of it. But he ends up hurting Sunny instead of helping him. And Basil has most likely realised that after he stabbed Sunny, seeing him passing out. We know that Basil’s plan for the night was to get rid of himself as he felt that everyone left him (grandma dying, Sunny moving, the friends having split apart (yes, they tried talking to Basil but he didn’t reply/acknowledge them, so either he wasn’t lucid enough to hear them, or refused to believe them as it was "too late for him" already) ). He still wanted to during the fight (repeating once again "there’s no wait out of this"), even if he was focused on "saving Sunny". But how do you think he’ll react when he sees what he did to Sunny ? He might even think he killed Sunny. So that would only make him want to-.. well, gardening-shear himself even more. And we know Basil’s door gets locked after Sunny comes in (no idea when, but after Basil passes out we hear the others struggling to open the door). So, I think Basil still did what he did in the neutral ending, only this time the others came soon enough in order for him not to bleed out (they heard Sunny scream when his eye got, well, gardening shear’ed, and went to check on them). That could explain why he’s in the hospital, and doesn’t stand or even seats up when he sees Sunny (and we know how reactive and anxious Basil is, so that’s not just "being tired"), as the pain would still be, well, painful. Also, not to be.... mean (?) to Sunny, but I don’t think he would be strong enough to send someone to the hospital with his bare hands- like, he’s severly malnourished and has not seen the light of day in 4 years, spending all this time sleeping around 17 hours a day or something- so sorry Snuuy, but yea, you don’t have the strength necessary to do that yet, even against a very-tired-and-breakdown-having-anxious-traumatised-swerslidal-teen ;_; But idk maybe I’m just over interpretating this- Anyways that’s a theory i guess-? 😭 (Also deeply sorry if I’m not being coherent in my words, I’m not English I learned the language by myself- 😀🥲)

At this ending, I think we are seeing through Basil's point of view, since we can only see when he opens his eyes. Also, it's interesting to see how Sunny's something fades away completely, but Basil's only retreats, going back inside him, meaning that he's okay, but maybe only for now; His guilt hasn't totally gone away yet.

In the same ending, there were suppsosed to be interactions between Hero, Aubrey and Kel when they were next to Basil in the hospital. Sunny would finnaly have an icon like others. He would say ".......................................................................................................I....." . And the then screen would go black and white wourds will appear that say "I need to tell you something". It was planned but we never got to see it. So we would finnaly get Sunny say something

Honestly the fact that Sunny telling everybody the truth gets rid of his something in turn causing Basil's something to disappear as well because he was living with the guilt of lying to his friends for so long but also wanting to protect Sunny is kind of sad. Sunny has saved Basil but we don't know what happened after, the others could've then blamed Sunny and never wanted to talk to him again, in turn causing him to never be able to be happy after struggling to get over Mari's death for 4 years and nearly dying from not only fighting Omori but Basil too. This would mean Sunny's gotten rid of most of his guilt but made it x1000 times harder to be happy, whereas Basil has gotten better thanks to Sunny facing reality which in turn could've made everyone else hate him. If everyone else hates him then he'd have to work on trying to gain their trust again, Basil being his only friend. Furthermore, Basil was unconscious when you tell everybody the truth, and they aren't there when he wakes up, it's only you, which makes it more likely that everyone else left you after confessing. If that's true then soon Basil will find out that Sunny confessed to everyone and that they hate him and he'll probably blame himself again, but maybe because he sees that Sunny no longer has his something he won't feel as bad and just try help Sunny by being a supportive friend.

When you're being chased by the experiment 667 (I think it was called) there's a glass pod you can smash as Aubrey and then switch to Omori and grab while it's chasing you, or if you don't do that Humphrey will cough up 2 keys. Hopefully you already found it though :)

I think you just had to water them before Humphrey because I did that after Mr. Jawsum and I got the cutscene. I only watered the flowers two times (the first being the visit to check if Basil is home).
