@@OmriCohen-Music I'm actually working through this generative patch at the moment in VCV ( and adding my own bits in ) really liking the Rampage function though, very useful. Trying to work out a way of using two Quantum scales and switching between them to flip the whole patch :)

I have a Rampage in my real Eurorack. It was one of the very first DIY Kits i built and i absolutly love it. Everything is very immediate and you can get some crazy modulation loops out of this beautiful thing when its in cycle mode. It is definitly nothing for finetuned and subversive modulations. The name Rampage fits very well to its character, but it can be tamed when you know what you are doing. By the way, good video. Some parts gave me the John Carpenter "The Thing" feels - 8:37

Count Modula has a s&h, how could I have missed that at the top of the search, I've never tried Vult's either. I think I'm getting too used to the same modules. I usually don't really notice a lot of modules until I see them in your patches ^^'. I really like the textures part in your patch, especially with the panning it feels like real ocean waves. It's amazing what can be done with a simple noise sound. This is a really nice patch Omri, thanks again for the event.

Great demonstration/tutorial and pleasant to listen to. I bought a hardware Rampage because of the one in VCVRack. Great tutorial! But did they change something with the VCAs? When I got to the part where you add the second VCA for the pitch, it basically woke up every dog in my neighborhood. After some research, I added an attenuator to keep the pitch from going up too high. Edit: I just watched again and realized you brought the level of the VCA down by click and dragging the meter. There was another video I watched by someone who probably didn't know you could do that and used a reverse attenuator. I guess they thought that was just a meter. :)

Oh ok, yeah, I use the VCA as an attenuator most of the times :) Glad you enjoyed it!

Quick question : why do you use the gain adjustment on MixMaster Jr. Instead of using the faders? Is there something I'm missing in how the mixer works? This is going to be my next project. I really hope my PC can handle this one, as there's a lot going on.
@OmriCohen-Music
@OmriCohen-Music 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I guess it's just something I got used to in other environments. Always reaching for the input gain first and using the faders for the so-called mixing stage. It's good practice to have the input gain at a good level so it hits everything else in the chain without clipping and such.
@Frustratia
@Frustratia 2 жыл бұрын
@@OmriCohen-Music thanks for the reply. That makes perfect sense, and is something I'm quite used to doing when I record real instruments in Reaper, as all my guitars have different pickups, and some are a lot "hotter" than others. For some reason my brain didn't pick up on it being the same for virtual hardware (although it should have). Cheers.

Hi! Great tutorial! Do you have a solution for the manual trigger rampage, so it plays whenever I start my patch, or press play in my DAW? I am using the VST3 version inside of Cubase 12 Pro together with the CLOCKED module? Any suggestions on modules that perform this task? I know of startup delay by Count Modula, but the minimum delay is 1 second and not directly when I open the patch.
@OmriCohen-Music
@OmriCohen-Music 8 ай бұрын
I'm not so sure... I remember that there's another module that fires a trigger on startup, but I don't remember which one it is and if it's shorter than the Count Modula module...
@LevienBrugmanMain
@LevienBrugmanMain 8 ай бұрын
Thanks @@OmriCohen-Music! I found a module called Manual from Bogaudio, that has the option to trigger on startup (via the right click menu), but works really buggy and most of the times requires you to still trigger it manually, but sometimes I have seen it do it's job correctly and instantly triggers the patch. Hoped there was a more reliable one. But thanks for your help and quick response, love your videos and you learned me so much!

I'm happy you liked it :) The S&H has a built in noise source that it will sample, if there's nothing connect to the input. And for switching the cables, you just have to pull another cable for a different color. The colors will cycle in a loop. I hope it helps!

@OmriCohen-Music
@OmriCohen-Music 3 жыл бұрын
@@HenricWallmark Well, there are a few ways you can do this. First of all, there's a dedicated module for this, the BPM LFO from Frozen Wasteland. I like using envelopes for this so something like the AD from nysthi, or Rampage, and then trigger it with the clock division I want and set it. But I guess that the easiest will be to use a dedicated module.
