OMSI Tutorial | Installing Mods

Welcome to the channel. In this video I do a tutorial on how to install mods for OMSI. I will be looking at installing maps and Buses/Coaches (Vehicles) using two different methods, Auto and Manual. Enjoy!

I'm really confused, I have transferred Cottrell from winrar to omsi folder but when I enter OMSI 2, it only has the two deafult maps and it isn't an opiton to select, my buses (E200 MMC/ALX 400 Volvo) have transferred to Omsi and i can drive them on the deafult maps as well as my resprays? How do I get the map to be an option

Just delete the vehicle's folder from the OMSI 2/vehicles folder.

I have winrar installed and I'm having a problem installing this. When I find the map it has all the files but it won't let me extract and when I try I get an error. Please help me as I really have wanted Cotterell and I will be sad if I can't drive around it so please please help me.

Hello, by not allowing you to extract, how do you mean. You should be able to literally drag and drop the files!

You need to install win rar, then try re-installing the map

Sadly, that could only ever be done with advanced re-writing of scripting and advanced scripting knowledge.

You Probably Dont Have WinRAR

Sadly, OMSI errors were never a science, try re-launching OMSI with a different map, then close it and load that map .

Try on the top right selecting load without buses and then try finding the map in the dropdown list.

You should do! It's a base folder within OMSI itself. If that folder is missing, try verifying your game files. If it's a specific mod you are installing, then not all buses/maps will have a font folder in the download as it'll use existing (default) fonts or have dependencies.

this is from my personal expierience. So no gaurantees. Open your steam icon folder. Go down to your library. Right click on omsi folder, right click on, file manager. All the files will appear on there. Sorry if i have not explained it properly.

Official Addons come from Steam and so if you have got an official addon from elsewhere other than Steam or Aerosoft then it is not a legal copy. Also ams files are images and OMSI does not my knowledge not understand ams file types.

Ok, so all the required textures for BOTW are included in the Download pack from the Fellowsfilm forums, so literally just follow the steps that I did, but for BOTW instead of Cotterell, then just open it up in OMSI as normal using the selection menu in the top right.

Hmmm, that usually is a problem with missing objects/splines. Run map tools (www.omnibussimulator.de/forum/index.php?page=Thread&postID=145564) and see if anything comes up as missing.

I dont have Win RAR where is the Manual tutorial!!!!!

Nearly all maps come packaged up in some kind of compressed format. You WILL need some kind of de-compression tool either winRAR or 7Zip, something like that. The manual method was actually manually dragging everything across as apposed to allowing the software to do it for you. Both WinRAR and 7Zip are completely free to use! If you get the free trial is over prompt in WinRAR, Just ignore it.
