To have equanimity, you have to have a degree of faith, a sense of surrender that okay things will happen. I can only control so much. But other than that, there are some core virtues. The virtue other than the philosophy of life is called compassion. When we get mad, when we get angry and when we start shouting at somebody, whatever is the reason, at that moment we are not being compassionate. We are being judgmental of course whether the other person is right or wrong or whether they deserve it. However, in my personal opinion, nobody deserves to be shouted at.
Compassion is the understanding that everybody acts according to what they know. They cannot act on something that they don’t know and compassion is doing your best. “If I were to sum it up in one line I would say, helping anybody, anytime you can and any which way possible is compassion in a nutshell.”
