You can't really have a peace time economy during a large war. I don't like it either but the reality is such. Those that are at the front don't have a peace time life. Those behind the front won't have a peace time life too till Ukraine wins. The idea that you can develop the economy during war time and reap the benefits of higher taxes is something that no one that understands economics can claim. Currently, most of the things in both involved states are being held by printing (inflation), loans (debt) and reserves (which are pretty much gone in both), and that is the norm in such situations. I want my country to send more to Ukraine but not in order to keep things comfy behind the front, but comfy AT the front, so that Ukraine can win, and keep it's independence, and regain it's internationally recognized territory.
