Ooops! Maybe living abroad for too long? The housing style (of the bigger houses in the distance) is quite different than in rural UK. Nevertheless, lots of aspects you mention are of course very similar in some European countries. And this is still beautiful!

Maine Coons are supposed to be very intelligent, communicative and fearless around water. Other animals have intelligence, too, but we humans are scary so all we experience is their flight reaction.
