At first, thank you Sanjay Silwal for inviting such good people. I am fascinated by the vision, commitment and dedication that both Sushil and Sunita have. I would like to thank Chiri Babu Maharjan mayor for being such a humble and enthusiastic people’s representative. One thing the mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan Chribabu sir has to do is focus on employment creation in the locality. Until and unless we create job opportunities, link all activities to employment, and improve basic facilities on top of other activities, younger people who seek employment opportunities do not stay there. I hope he has plans for these things too! Regarding both Sunita and Sushil ji, they are good but they have to make sure among popular faces of Balen, Sushil and Sunita, they need to discuss and come as a team if possible. At least one mayor, one deputy mayor or so. Otherwise , the existing political parties’ syndicate will prevail again. I am happy that youths like us are stepping up! Best wishes to all of them. Chiri Babu Maharjan deserves a round of applause 👏 for being stand out mayor! Great to watch and listen to!

Wonderful episode; clarifies who is deserving. I wish Sunita Dangol win because she sounds very prepared and has a different perspective than others. I love her 3C framework which is very necessary in modern Kathmandu. Wonderful concept. I wish her all the best. Chiri babu is a clear definition of great leader. Huge respect for the depth of knowledge he has and what he has done to Lalitpur. He is very much loved by Lalitpur residents as well. Sushil seems like less-than-ideal candidate for Mayor. He sounds like he is very proud of the knowledge he has acquired and places he has visited. Seems like he can be some kind of expert but highly doubt his position as a leader. I disagree with his criticism, mainly on cycle lane. I think exclusive cycle lanes which has been introduced to bring the concept of green city amongst people and slowly integrating that idea. This concept is slowly but surely establishing the idea that pedestrians and cyclists should be given the priority in cities like Lalitpur. Now it is up to the licensed drivers to respect that. He also seems to be personally attacking Chiri Babu rather than presenting his vision. His cynicism is not constructive at all because his ‘evidence-based knowledge’ seems to be more of ‘confirmation bias’. Project your goals and vision so that voters can understand what you are upto. We have us to criticise leaders!

I agree, establishing cycle lane concept in a city where constructing 2 lane road is already a far stretch, it is a necessary and a baby step towards educating people whats all inclusive road and for everyone means. We can see examples of roads where even trams run in same 9 mtre road including cycle lanes in developed nations. I believe answer relies in effective traffic management rather than complaining in existing conditions.

Most of the issues Sunita has been raising is the copyright idea of Balen Shah which he had been Sharing to the public since last year. In the podcast, she expressed her disgust and irritation over the internal political structure and influence on performance about party system. The next week she has accepted the ticket of deputy mayor from UML which is almost ceremonial (non-functional). For me it's very hard to get convinced on her Janus-faced sentiment. Apart from, other two guests are exemplary. Enjoyed listening to the podcast.

I found Sushil Thapa very knowledgeable by bringing private sector views on public sector development. But, I do not agree when he says heritage of Kathmandu needs to be named Bagmati Samprada. The samprada is Newa Samprada. It’s been handed down from 1000 years. It’s a recognition you need to give. You can’t generalize it by saying Bagmati Samprada or Nepali Samprada. It’s Bagmati or Nepal Samprada of the Newa community. This is what needs to be said. You can’t take heritage of somebody and make it common. This is depriving of somebody’s heart and soul and it’s theft. It’s like calling Persian art Middle Eastern Art or call Bengali Art simply Indian Art. You need to give due recognition to the community that defines, creates and maintains the heritage. This is just and fair. Please change your views, Sushil Jhi. Otherwise, your views are wonderful.

Conclusion: 1. Sushil Thapa sounds smart, also thinks himself smart, is full of scientific jargons. Looks straighforward but politically less qualified, maanxe position agaadi pugnu is not great, pugera tyo sustain garnu is another thing, he can hurt anyone's feelings, I donot know why he is more foccusing on Maharjan sir's face. Overall, looks good in his current profession but full doubt as mayor 2. Sunita sounds like student with dream, knows more about community but not about development, I think if she can include experts in her team, she can do quite well, independently ladera, I doubt if she can deliver as expected, party baata ladey pani, I doubt if she can. Overall, sounds like student, opportunity grab gari gari yo position maa pugeko xa, soch pani xa, ekchoti mayor trial garney opportunity didaa hunxa, as Kathmandu people donot have other better options than her till now. 3. Chirubabu sounds real politically fit mayor, public ko favourite with some plans, problems xa but aru mayor haru vandaa comparatively better.
