Also, when you fill up the villager bars, exit and wait until you see the pink bubbles. That is the level-up. Open again and trade more. The new item trades will (generally) give more experience than the older ones, but there are exceptions.

Smelt all of the iron equipment to get iron nuggets... use them for your lamps!

When you get silk touch, you can take the bookshelves for your own enchanting area. (Or just remake them from the books that drop.)

You can put you iron and chainmail boots in the furnace to get iron nuggets so they dont clog up your chests
