Apologies for not releasing many videos this month, y'all. I ended up battling a cold, fever, and a gnarly ear infection and for a couple of weeks, I was out of town with family and had limited access to my computer.
Well, guys, I know I am a bit late in releasing this video, but better late than never, right? This past summer, I was planning on putting railfanning on hold because I had used the last of my expiring tickets; however, when word went around 2 weeks prior that New Jersey Transit was doing a fare holiday for a week in late August, I decided to push back my railfanning break a bit longer. The fare holiday entails that all forms of transportation on NJT (rail, bus, light rail, etc.) were completely free of charge.
As a result, I decided to venture up to Ramsey-Main Street station since I wanted to do some daytime fanning since I had fanned there past sunset about 9 months prior. Furthermore, I wanted to film a proper on-board video of Train #1165, especially since it is guaranteed EMD power, more specifically, MNCR power, considering that it is part of a rotation pool based out of Port Jervis.
I was hoping that F40PH-3C #4907 would be leading this train, especially since it is equipped with a nice K5LA and has an obnoxiously loud HEP generator; however, #4910 is just as good since it also has an older K5LA that is not a Raised Letter. Furthermore, just like #4907-#4909, #4910 used to operate on Amtrak as F40PHR #310.
Due to this train reaching Ramsey-Main Street 20 minutes behind schedule, Train #55, which normally bypasses Ramsey about 5 minutes after Train #1165's departure, ended up passing me at Waldwick on Track 1 to avoid it being delayed as well.
With that being said, I have said plenty, so I will let you guys enjoy the video. I would change a few things of this trip, especially regarding the timing, since the North River Tunnel issue kind of threw a wet blanket on my plans; however, it was a nice trip with great horn action. If you guys enjoyed the video, feel free to drop a like, comment, subscribe, share the video with everyone you know, and I will see you all on the next one! :D
