I have a pair of Cloudstratus, and agree with you. Best ON's ever made. Cushioned but responsive daily trainer. For a neutral running shoes these are quite stable. Maybe the Cloudboom Echo is same quality. The ON trali shoes are'nt.

I like the ON Cloud as a casual shoe that you can also run in. They’re great for travel and I did a pretty fast 5k in them once while on a trip. The other models don’t seem to work for me on any level. Martha

Love my Cloudstratus as my every day walking shoes and for travel. Super comfy and seem to last better than all the other major brand I have been shredding to bits lately (walking 30-60 minutes every day with our dog).

These Cloudstratus V2 are much better than most of the comments on You Tube would lead you to believe. I have been putting around 20 miles a week in these shoes from July until December, and I have had no soreness or blisters of any kind in all that time. It doesn’t matter if I wear socks or not, or lace them up tightly or not. The fit is that good, the ride is that smooth, and they just feel firm and wide and stable without feeling harsh. I don’t know why I do so well with these shoes, but I do.

I have 1000+ miles in the Cloustratus v1 and I'm moving to v2 just because the cushioning has worn out. They have plenty of cush and after going through most shoe brands, they're the only ones that don't give me blisters. My feet are happy. It's all very subjective.
@iakona232 жыл бұрын
@@MsFxtrdr Since I wrote that original comment in December, I feel like the cushioning in my V2 cloudstratus has finally broken down. But I ran in them most days since July and I had well over 500 miles in them. I had no soreness or discomfort until just recently. In the future I will give my shoes at least 24 hours between use. I purchased a New Balance More V3 about 5 days ago and so far they seem very comfortable and pleasant to run in.

I was just watching Kofuzi’s vlog and he had a pair of those in some of the sequences. It was interesting to watch the shoe in slo-mo as it looked very stiff in that the sole wasn’t moving as his foot strike hit the ground.

On are just about the only shoe I will ever wear. They are do well made. I have pairs of On’s that are 3 years old that still look new, and it’s not because I don’t wear them. They are super easy to clean. Hit them up with a water repellent out of the box. After a workout scrub them down with a rag and laundry soap and water. Once in a while I toss them in the wash. They hold up so well.

I tried on the original Cloudstratus and hated it. I own two pairs of Cloud and one pair of Cloud X though. I wear them all as casual shoes that I can also go to the gym with if needed. The best thing On does is make a really nice looking shoe that is lightweight and versatile. My Cloud 50/50 (black/hay colorway) looks so nice that I'll buy another pair once these wear out (3 years as daily drivers so far.) I can't comment on running 500 miles in a pair of them though.

On seems like a very gimmicky brand. I understand they're niche and cater to runners who enjoy a firmer ride, but when the Kinvara, Fresh Foam Tempo, Endorphin Shift, Zoom Streak, and EvoRide exist for substantially cheaper in the same weight class if not lighter it simply doesn't make sense for anyone to purchase an On shoe.
@ColinMcRaeVIT3 жыл бұрын
Lol if I were an employee of On I would not be encouraged by this particular first impression. But you know what tends to stand out the most? When a company starts at a low baseline and they make great improvements, like Puma. My guess would be On doesn’t want to be just another one of the shoe makers, Doing the same old same old. But I think what they need to do is focussed first on the engineering and try to be unique as a very close by the second priority.

@K flub You'd have to look at current shoe reviews from here (Believe in the Run), plus other prominent shoe reviewers (not sure if I can paste links but I"ll name them: TheGingerRunner, Seth James Demoor, Kofuzi, shout out to up-and-comer reviewer Brendan Camm as well). All have made a consensus that Puma had disappeared, but this year they came roaring back and their new running shoes are some of the best on the market. Comments like "bar none the best outsole of any running shoe" and so forth. I didn't think Puma was a brand for anything beyond a pair of wool socks from Costco but now they're a top shoe maker again, and in only a year.

@@denniszenanywhere Do whatever works for you and whatever makes you happy. I’m very happy running injury free in my Cloudstratus V2 and the price per hour of running is minuscule to me compared to the joy and the benefits which I derive from running. Not everyone is so fortunate to be able to run pain free, in fact a fairly large percentage of runners suffer some sort of injury every year.
