Where did they place in last race on Sunday against Britain and Australia .1st 2nd or 3rd
@steveburton5825 Жыл бұрын
The Canadians got 5th in the 3rd race. That gave them 25 points. Great Britain won two races but their 8th place in race 2 gave them only 3 points so Canada beat everyone with the Aussies in 3rd at 21 and the French in 4th at 20.. Going over the line a millisecond early cost the Canadians this race but they went from dead last (as a penalty) all the way up to 5th which was an amazing climb through a very crowded pack. Fine sailing by the rookie crew in their first race day.

Great to have Sail GP back! Even better to see how competitive the teams are…Nathan - really feel for you man. Second place first 2 seasons then no sponsorship support so you can race. That sucks mate - hope you’re back on the water soon! Go team Canada, well done Phil and team! Looking forward to some better starts tomorrow Tom…get er dun! Woot woot. Just loving my Sail GP weekends!

I'll never bo close to an F50 SailGP boat, so having the opportunity to watch it puts a lot more fun to sail our 1966 Sunfinsh.

Great spectacle great format. Shame no Nathan. Two suggestions 1 the super highlight of the final is a lowlight with three boats. Suggest a 10sec head start? Second change the corse twin gate races fine. But add some slalom or lateral element. Venue and conditions dependant.

Huh! Looks like they missed #9 in Sydney? Can't wait to see Nathan Outteridge back, and very happy to see Phil Robertson helming - he has heaps of bold skill which I hope he can use with the Canadian team. 😎

Woah boy, I can’t believe we’re back in Bermuda already! I know it’s just Day 1, but I have to wonder- is this going to be the year France finally claws their way onto the podium?

Cool to see what seems what the Japanese team learned from the English boat almost all the boats are in that same mode however the English bill kind of change it up to the fluky conditions Denizli is one of the gray Saylorsburg time and we’re seeing it live it’s pretty cool

Good morning, afternoon, evening, night to all. I have a question: can a speed of a sail boat to be greater than of the apparent wind speed? If the answer is "yes", why? Thanks :-)
@thesoupin8or6732 жыл бұрын
College dinghy sailor here, so anybody can feel free to correct me. My understanding is that "apparent wind speed" is basically the absolute wind speed plus the boat's speed. Because of this, as the boat's speed increases, so does the apparent wind speed; this is why a boat's speed can exceed the ground wind speed if it does a good enough job of reducing drag, like these boats do. However, I don't think the boat's speed can exceed the apparent wind speed.

@@thesoupin8or673Is there an error on the USA and JPN's apparent wind representation? Thamks :-)www.notiziarioweb.altervista.org/screenshot.jpg

Sad that they have not found a producer that knows aircraft yachts and ships measure speed in knots. This one should stick to lawnmower racing. Here's hoping they find a good format for the final this year. Nice to see Bermuda again.

The commentators seem to focus on GBR a lot. Sure they might be first at mark 1, but there are 8 other boats racing and it would be good to hear about the tactics of other teams that are behind

Why did this video appear in it's entirety as an advert on an unrelated video about Darth Vader's bathroom? Paying for views? That's kinda low.

Stop, just stop. There is no b---n company that is “cool”, it’s not cool to waste energy on silly gimmicks nobody wants and ridiculous scams that get plastered all over Twitter. SailGP doesn’t need this “new partner” and the most ocean-friendly thing they can do is set them adrift immediately.

I made a similar comment earlier and it appears to have been deleted. Guess it was too close to the mark, so to speak :)
