On Edmonton's anti-lockdown rally being ruined by fools with tiki torches

Last weekend in Edmonton, a number of anti-lockdown organizers decided for some inexplicable reason that marching with a number of people including their leader, holding tiki torches would be a good idea.
The rally was of course reported as being a white nationalist event, the messaging about lockdowns was utterly lost and these rallies have lost a pile of credibility.
The likelihood of anti-lockdown rallies gaining support and participation from average folks dropped dramatically last weekend and there is no good excuse for it.
I am tired of arguing with people on Twitter over why this was an idiotic and damaging move so have put it into a video to cover ground rather than trying to respond to the apologists on Twitter trying to make excuses for this.

This is why there are two different groups in Calgary. I am with freedom4canada.com we host our rallies on Sundays at the Court house. We are focused on unconstitutionality of the mandatory measures and upholding our rights and liberties. We are the group who are working with Rath & Associates along with the JCCF to sue Dr. Hinshaw and the Alberta government requesting the data and evidence thy are using to base the mandatory measures off of. We created a protocol for our rallies to keep the speeches on the issues at hand. As the fringe stuff scares off anybody who is on the fence who may be interested in what we are looking to accomplish. When our group formed with the intent to focus on litigation the organizer of the other group would not allow us to speak at his rallies or ever acknowledge us. This is when we decided to start the rally on Sundays and we have been growing since we had over 90 people show at our rally a couple weeks ago at -30 and 107 last week. We are focused on creations an uplifting vibe and avoid using negative statements in our rally chants. @@fatman6660 I doubt it. Not everyone having a different view point from our own can be a paid shill. A lack of nuance on issues is a major problem. Some people are more moderate and careful in their approach. You can’t go in like a bull in a china shop and expect things to go well, it can come off as too extreme extreme and be vulnerable to misinterpretation, whether deliberate or otherwise. I know I was at one of the events where pastor Artur was speaking. He made some homophobic comments. I’m not offended personally, but I disagree with them, we left because it was not something we wanted to be associated with. We were there for freedom event, he took it off topic with his own political and moral views. Same with people and the Trump speeches. Stay on topic people! This stuff will scare away more moderate people from coming out to support and will give the media and Notley the fuel they’re looking for. The whole movement will be branded by the most extreme people with a microphone. It’s just not a smart move. It’s totally reasonable to keep it on topic and that’s what the angry albertan is doing (or attempting to). our Saturday afternoon protests will now be branded by the carelessness of a few people. That is a really crappy thing. I’m personally quite angry about that. We have suffered major personal loss, had a precious loved one die in part due to lockdowns. We are now doubtful we’ll be able to go out to these events now with police and Antifa harassment. We were totally supported by the EPS previously. We won’t be now.
