I felt so sorry for the defendant. This was a classic case of incompatibility and why Communication is a two-way street. He was trying to communucate that he wanted to do something else other than dancing and change his life. The Plaintiff just thought about the money and acting like a clown to get some exposure. As much as I appreciated the plaintiff’s humour and theatrics, I felt he failed to understand that he and his partner weren’t on the same page on many matters. I also felt the plaintiff was narcissistic, haughty, self-centred. Never once did he think about his partner’s wants or needs. On top of it all, this was a homosexual couple. As part of the LGBTQ2+ community, I can see why relationships among men don’t often come to fruition. The plaintiff’s behaviour is the reason many of my dates have been unsuccessful. If men could meet men where they’re at and accept them for who they really are, I think dates and relationships among men would be much more successful.
