Firas! I have to say I have agreed with practically everything Iv heard you say, the way you open up topics is very reminiscent of plato dialogues. My favourite piece I ever read was "phaedo" or "on the soul" . I liked Trump to an extent , I believe in alot of the work he did . I dont think he was the best person in the world to be president but given the options I believe he was the best decision in both his campaigns and I dont believe he deserved 80% of his radical resistance. Best wishes bro

My favorite part of Jiu-Jitsu is when I watch my son stop in the middle of a scramble session to show his sparring partner how to frame better or to knee splice better.... He says if the other kids better, he will get better too. -- I learn a lot from him. Question -- I always see striking implemented first at gyms... when I learned boxing 25 years ago my coach taught foot work for three months, after foot work, I learned the jab. It took me a long long time before I hit the pads with him. But foot work was something I practiced every day, the box. I'm wondering why gyms are so focused on striking versus footwork placement? You should check out the Art of Mental Training. Though I don't know if he read the book, in an interview, Floyd Mayweather used one of its technique. It is a pretty fascinating read.

Just go Foti. Give yourself five attempts to find a gym. Find one where the people seem nice ( not bullies or ego's), and force yourself to go for two months, no matter how painful it is or uncomfortable you feel. Two months. Josh Waitzkin was a Tai Chi champion, and now is a black belt under Marcelo. They do compete. Chinese martial arts has a legit underlayment of grappling knowledge, but it became formalized, non competitive, extremely fanciful, etc. But if you were to look at the principles, a lot of it is the same thing you find in jujitsu or Pavel Tsatsouline. Although, I don't know how much that counts. You could say the same for aikido.

Coach Zahabi, I always love and try to actively apply your teachings. The knowledge you provide and learned from other giants, is the practical information + wisdom the broken education system is in need of. When it comes to knowledge, you got me into Kettlebells and I've been doing Pavel's Simple & Sinister for the past 5-6 months. I recall you saying to be cautious of swings but didn't get a chance to research myself so your thorough insight in this video on swings was very informative. I actually decided to forego swings as a result.(those were a pain anyways 😂--guess I have to get my heart beating elsewhere) Appreciate you and the value you bring. i found that when i tried to learn to cook from internet recipes, not only did it taste terrible but i didnt learn anything. after a long time passed i realized that i could just ask people for their recipes of food i liked, this rejuvenated my interest in cooking. same goes for art, to keep it short, if you scribble in one place for a million years youll never learn anything. however if you do something right, youll always surprise yourself what your capable of. in this way your abilitys and how you use them are implicit rather than explicit, and the book the secret tells you to make them explicit, which i believe is just bordering on narcissist.

Firas, "The Secret" was based upon the works of Esther and Jerry Hick's book, "The Law of Attraction". I would have to agree with you that "The Secret" is only a piece of the puzzle. The premise of the law of attraction is that thought and emotion govern your physical reality. Through my research, I found that the root of all philosophy is the Egyptian Hermetic philosophy. Considered the father of philosophy, Pythagoras of Samos was an initiate into the Egyptian mystery schools and modeled his school after it. This is also the root of Freemasonry, etc. At its core, Hermeticism acknowledges that All is One and All is Mind. The source of everything is mental in nature. Research the seven Hermetic principles and you will gain a new insight to the "law of attraction".

From my experience, not everyone in mma, boxing, jiu-jitsu, etc.were not picked on as a child. A lot of fighters get into it because that is what they are good at. Some of them were bullies their self. These are the guys who do not need to be kicked out of gyms but they need the guidance from a good instructor to also make them a better man in the same, but opposite way that martial arts makes the bully victims a better man too.

@trevorcarterva7 жыл бұрын
As for "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrnes, the central theme is the "Law of Attraction" idea. This idea is basically a matter of belief or faith. It is not science. There is no known scientific evidence that this "law" exists. That doesn't mean there isn't some practical use for some of the information provided. When dealing with the subjective it is nearly impossible to measure or quantify results. That's exactly what we have with the LOA. There is also the issue of confirmation bias. We tend to see things that support our belief or we find patterns in the chaos where there really are no intentional patterns. If something like the LOA exists, then we can't see any objective mechanisms that control how it works. For example, if I have a lamp and it's not working, I can check the bulb and the wiring. It could be that the cord is defective. Electricity cannot make its way from the electrical outlet to the lamp, because of the cord. The cord is one of the mechanisms responsible for the operation of the lamp. If the LOA doesn't work, I have no mechanisms to troubleshoot, at least none that are objective in nature.

Wow. Political commenters are by far the most impetuous and emotional group I have ever witnessed on the internet. It's actually quite funny. Every video I see that has a slight view on politics has the comment section bombarded by angry people voicing their opinions on it. Just based on my experience from the internet, political content has the most confrontational arguments and I find that hilarious since it's usually mature individuals speaking about it. Hey Firas and everyone else, why do you all think that politics out of all things gets people riled up and emotional?
