19:28 Using Tech Tiles p11. You can keep the oxygen or upgrade the tech tile that was used at no cost. You upgraded the shelter tech incorrectly it seems.

Hi tom, thx for this video :) there is still some Klingon subs to be added but I learned that during shuttle phase, when Lacerda goes back on mars he builds systematically (plus action) which I missed during my games. It is easy to miss something even after a bunch of games ;). Good talking, pleasant voice and good rolling out kind of explanation (pragmatic :)). As mentioned in the comments, it really disturbed me to see the wrong placement of the starting turn order (corrected too far later and really disturbing). Minute 35 you need to pay the shuttle you get (it seems ok in your supply but as the transaction is not shown, one may think it for free ;). Finally when Lacerda triggers LSS bonus he gets the first bonus + the ‘get his worker back from the Scientific/contract action space’ or a crystal if not possible. Keep going on, I liked the video, it always helps to get things anchored in our minds :)

Great video! When lacerda does a red colonist action, he places a colonist on the action space and like in the two player he only pays with crystals if there are other colonists ( including his own) there. This makes it more expensive for you since he does not retrieve the meeples when travelling only when he gets kicked out because of full.

Dont forget: The level of your colony limits the maximum of ships you can welcome ! If you colony has level 3, you can welcome a max. of 3 ships!

Great work as always, Tom. I'm hoping to play this some time in the not too distant future and this video has helped me to wrap my head around it (as much as my brain can without having the game in front of me)!

Great stuff. Like you I started with the “GamingRules” video (also excellent) but needed some guidance on the solo version. Really good stuff and can hardly wait to play the game for real. Cheers.

If interested, I've created an alternative solo mode that uses Lacerda's solo deck. Its called "Pathfinder" and reduces complexity/management, has tie breaking rules (using the solo deck) for all decisions (no dice needed), and is win-by-points (no goals). Playtesting has gone very well. You can find it on BoardGameGeek: @t

at .10:51; when lacerda builds a building, he must place a colonist on the action which represents a red settler?
@walouyo3799
@walouyo3799 4 жыл бұрын
@mirco maccagnan yes exactly, exception done if it is through a discovery tile, and maybe (not clearly stated in the rules) when LSS levels up and he places his shelter. The next building (if not with a bonus tile like the mining complex) needs to be compensated regardless of colour in 2 player version

At the beginning 5:37 why did you take actions from the left (orbit) and your meeple is on the right (colony)?
@krryan0

I noticed that to. I am pretty sure he made a mistake with the player meeple placement.

At 19:22, when upgrading a tech tile due to another player using it, I thought you were limited to upgrading the used tech, and not one of your choice?
@SilentBeutlin
@SilentBeutlin 5 жыл бұрын
Ian Forbes is correct. This is on p.11 of the rule book: If someone else uses your tech, you can upgrade THAT tech. If you can’t or won’t, you take the oxygen. Tom wouldn’t have gotten anything here, since he can’t upgrade the tech and he can’t store the Oxygen.

Is this game more harder to learn that robinson crosoe? I have crosoe and I understand it well but don't know about this one. A lot of people in the youtube saying that it's hard to learn
@slickerdrips

Yeah I’d say it’s harder than Robinson Crusoe, I’ve always found Vital’s games to have a bit of a hurdle to get over at the start but once it clicks it’s smooth sailing with the rules, but finding out how to do well is the harder part. It’s available to play online for free on Tabletopia at the moment, might be worth having a go on there :)

Hi Tom, what lacerda games would you recommend for mostly solo and those you would not recommend for solo?
@slickerdrips
@slickerdrips 4 жыл бұрын
My favourites for solo are The Gallerist and Lisboa, I wouldn’t have recommended Kanban as it didn’t have an official one but now the new EV version is on the way it’s finally getting it 🙂

Awesome video. By the way on ambiguity, the solo cards are only 1, 2, 3 so they don't work well if you have 4 options (like the first time you move his Rover). I'm also not a fan of this suggestion in the rulebook since the numbers aren't evenly distributed with five 1s, four 2s and three 3s.
@walouyo3799
@walouyo3799 4 жыл бұрын
@Robert Young true, that option 4 is not important to Lacerda (warehouse ? He has all resources and it does not bloc players; rover, bot and shuttle are played else). The proportion is to reflect balance against human players, and seems fine to me
